-Running plays impressed me, since we didn't have any last year
-OL (even Haynes)
-Horton
-Holani
-Lock (besides the dumb int)
-Jobe
- Jamal Adams at LB

Need to rewatch 2nd half though. Im on east coast , so I nodded off after halftime. When I woke in the 4th, Milroe was running all over the place

Drake Thomas was lost in coverage...he was in the backfield multiple times, but missed the tackle. Hoping Ernest Jones doesn't miss any time.

Tyreke Smith had some good twitch, looked the part. Mike Morris was great, hope he sticks. Zabel looked great, Sundell was average IMO. Horton was amazing

Horton got a good look and made the most of it. He is the real deal. Arroyo played briefly and looked good. Ammonwori didn't get much of a chance. The line held up pretty well but gave in late. I was pleasantly surprised that our running game did as well as it did.
I was mostly positive on Milroe. His first snaps in the NFL and he didn't really do anything wrong, although he came close to making a terrible mistake on a third and long sideline throw that was ever so close to being a pick6. His show was victimized by penalties that nullified two really big gains that would have been game changing advances/conversions but were instead drive killers. I also thought that late sack should have been avoided instead of just accepting it as fate. Had to know they would be coming in that situation. He will get better and better as he gets reps.

We all know that Milroe is 1-2 years out, so I agree that it was definitely a positive outing for his first game. On that TD drive, he made the type of throws he supposedly can't make...short and accurate. He's going to be a nightmare on bootlegs and rollouts.

I kinda thought russell played himself out of a job
Sundell Had some issues but otherwise good
Outz looked good
Our running game looks like it's very much alive , just surprised the raiders 1st string looked weak against some of our backups
pass pro with the starters looked pretty good and maxx crosby is no joke so that is very encouraging

I was stoked about the Martinez pick but he was very slow and surprisingly stiff and unagile for an RB.
Holani was noticeably better. Too bad McIntosh was injured. We could use a good 3rd RB this year.
Running game overall was very encouraging. Especially the line play.

Since he hasn't been mentioned yet Ouzts. Sticking with that same position, one play that was disappointing was the hold by Russell that took away a long run. Looked to me like awful technique on a play where he really didn't need to hold.
You absolutely have to love Robbie Ouzts seal blocks he just crushes the edge defender every time. Better still, he can catch too.

McDonald on Ouzts: I was talking about how he started the game. They brought a Sam strong safety, something that we haven't really repped much with that run scheme. But to be able to follow those rules, and ended up blocking Maxx (Crosby) on that play, which was pretty cool. So definitely felt him. Just like, hey, what is that, your second play as an NFL player and you just go execute at a high level and pop an explosive run? That was pretty cool.

So basically, on Ouzts second play in the NFL, he blocks Maxx Crosby which helps spring Holani for a 20 yard run, then later he locks up the blitzing safety to spring Holani for his 23 yard TD.

I will confess, I didn't think much of Ouzts when we drafted him. He looked fat and slow. But his play yesterday was top notch. Given Brady Russell's desire to "hug it out" with the edge defender, I think Ouzts has won the FB job.

Yep..hands on the outside instead of his breastplate. Crazy thing is, that ‘hold’ didn’t help him block better than had he executed a good block. 😒

I wasn’t 100% sure that it was Crosby he blocked on that play but thought it was.

Thanks for the confirmation.

IMO, that’s a really big deal and offers a glimpse into the player he can become.

Outz. Zabel…Horton…they played phenomenal. I love that we even used Outz as a decoy after pounding the ball several times.

Milroe is a future All-Pro. He looked poised. Had it not been for a few penalties, he would’ve surely led us down for a score.

I even love the fact that he was in a potentially game winning drive. Great experience for the rook.

Arroyo…he’s going to be nasty. I know we’ve been talking WR3 after JSN and Kupp but, I think TE1 is going to get more catches in this offense. Dude looks like an extra big WR out there.

Emmanwori…didn’t see too much but, he did what he was asked to do. He did get a pressure on a safety blitz. I’m confident had more balls came his way, he would’ve done just as expected…very well.
