Love it. 1B is the position in most desperate need of an upgrade, imo, and this is a helluva upgrade.

FYI, Naylor is younger than Cal. If they can sign him to an extension or re-sign him after the season, this could solve our 1B woes for the foreseeable future.

Actually always made more sense to me than Geno. Williamson is the 3B of the future, or at least that's how it looks. Replacing a platoon at 1st with a real 1B just makes sense.

They said Suarez is still their #1 priority. This deal was simple so they went with it, but still working for Geno. A lot of teams in on him so will take a little longer.

Should have signed him this off-season. Better late than never.

The middle of the order with Cal, Randy and Josh Naylor is looking good.

OPS: Cal .988, Randy .814, Naylor .807

Geno would be a massive upgrade to Williamson. If they're really serious about a playoff push this season (and acquiring Naylor indicates that they are), they really need better production at 3B.

.291 hitter, solid 1B, 30+ bombs last season. 3rd lowest strikout rate in baseball. I don't say it often, but....NICE JOB Front Office ✌️
Yes this was a no-brainer. My only negative thought is that we could have had him for 100 more games if we traded for him last offseason. But as for a trade deadline move, this was an 'A'.
