Makes sense to me. Drafted Arroyo and A. J. Barner was good last year. Noah Fant was overpaid for what he brings to the table. Thought this would happen a long time ago.

Arroyo has shown enough already for them to feel confident with a 1/2 combo with Barner. I think it’s a good move to create cap space.

This is my thought as well. Didn't want to cut him before in case there was a holdout.

We didn't need the cap afaik, but this tells me that we didn't have a trade partner and wanted to give him every chance to find a team because he wasn't going to be on ours at that rate.

I hear what you're saying regarding having a veteran presence but my question is what kind of presence would a 10MM per season underachieving TE make with the younger guys and rookies?
