Goff is not elite. When we play the lions I think to myself “cool, Goff is easy just get in his face and he’ll throw a pick”

So far Goff is not much more than darnold, just more years of production
Can't help but agree here. Jared Goof is basically Darnold who managed to fall into an ultra-lucky situation (well-run organizations) from Day 1 instead of the Jets.

I think he'll be excellent. People hold him to such a ridiculous standard because of who his father is. The stuff people rip on him for would be no big deal if his last name was "Smith" instead of "Sanders". Meanwhile, if Jaxson Dart was Jaxson Smith, he wouldn't have been considered by anyone before the fifth round.
I agree with the standard as far as Sanders goes but your Dart example...uhh....

Not sure that's how it works... 🤔

All things being equal, If Jaxson Dart's name was Jaxson Smith but he had the same highlights and outlook as a QB prospect, I don't think it would've mattered what his last name was.

The result would've been the same and he'd be selected by the Giants.

Dart has no famous father overshadowing everything so having a different last name wouldn't have mattered.

Of our 11 selections in this past draft, I liked nine of them. It was just Milroe and Emmanwori that were dumb picks. Typically, you're lucky to hit on more than three of them in an average draft, so if anything, I'm entirely TOO optimistic. I should probably dial that back some.

Should they have gotten another O-Line guy instead of Emmanwori?

All 11 will be hall of famers that’s how optimistic I am

No, they should have taken a better player. My issue wasnt the position. And they wasted a third round pick in the process; not as badly as the third round pick they actually used, but both were spectacularly terrible decisions.

I am removing the team around them. Goff from a physical abilities/tools standpoint is much better QB, Love as well. Both are a tier or two above Purdy, IMO. That's not a knock on Purdy, he is a good QB.
If you start comparing Purdy on physical tools he is never going to win anything . Thats why he was a seventh rounder and looks like the kid who packs your groceries. But it is mental speed and short area quickness where he is elite

What’s wrong with Emmanwori
I think he's an average defender who doesn't play to his size. Potential is very high, but I'm concerned we're going to be attempting to change his instincts and make him something he isn't, and that often does not work well. I'll admit that a big part of what annoys me about him was all the Kam comparisons, which are way off imo, so I should probably try to separate myself from that. I would have been ok with him had we not traded up; not excited though.

That's exactly my point, thank you for agreeing.

Elite is a stretch on either of those factors.

Damn Rat, again, are you ok? I can't remember the last time you said anything positive about the Hawks. Seriously.

Also, why get mad at the player for comparisons that OTHERS are making?

I talk positively about plenty of players. You're just so obsessed with negative talk that nothing else registers with you.

Don't talk down to me. I'm doing just fine.

If you don't like my opinion on something, feel free to tell me why I'm wrong.

Not talking down to you at all, just legit asking if you're ok. I've been talking negative about Geno for years.

Never mind. Go Hawks

Getting so sick of people whining that I don't enjoy Seahawks football the right way.

I like the discussion, and I like having my thoughts challenged. I learn lots of cool things that way. Going back and researching is interesting to me.

Of course, it's not enough for some people to enjoy posting what they like, they need to make sure everyone is lock and step with the company line. Even when I say something positive, it's not positive enough. I can say I thought nearly all our picks were great "oh no, you have to think they were ALL great". I can say I hope JSN's recent muscle gain makes him an even more complete player "oh no, that infers there's a chance you think it might not do that". People want to question my mental state, but jumping into every thread to be the positivity police doesn't seem indicative of any less of a miserable existence than anything I do.

For the record, I've been great. This past week, I tied my longest streak of sobriety in 18 years, got taken off probation (3 months early) by the courts, and am more together than I thought was possible a year ago. So, thanks for making assumptions.

The fact that the same couple of people are doing like 90% of the whining about positivity tells me that either they LIKE doing it or they're just unaware of the ignore feature. It's like one click and suddenly your safe space won't feel so violated.

I can be democratic though. It sounds like what a lot of you want is an echo chamber. I don't need to post here anymore.

But having elite traits is not the same as being an elite QB. Lots of QBs who turn out to be failures have elite traits. There can be very few QBs who can qualify as being elite QBs or else the term elite becomes irrelevant, sort of along the lines of the way some people justify their opinion by tagging it as being "reality".

Democratic is definitely the right word. It’s like you either leave cause you’re so tired of some kinds of arguing or you figure out how to just deal with it as part of it. I joined like two years ago and I quickly quit because I hated the arguing like it was Facebook. But I came back because I love talking sports and I found a way to not care about the crazy and also it became a lesson in controlling my own emotion and being clever instead. I try really hard to be respectful even if it’s a large impass in opinion . Congratulations on your success in your battle for sobriety
