You should be

In his last 5 games against Seattle , George Kittle has 24 receptions , 427 yards and 7TD . I’ll take Kittle and I am glad they paid him
Paying stars past their prime is a big reason the Niners suck right now. Niners are a sinking ship and hawks are emerging to control our division once again. We added a rookie safety that can cover and break your TE.

Okay. Still glad they paid a 31 year old with a history of injuries so they can't pay someone younger.
But you are probably ok with paying Cooper Kupp (also 31) 15 million per season who has missed more games over the last 3 years (17) and had way lower production than Kittle (a TE!) last year

He just had his best season since 2018 but keep up the narrative that he is past his prime if that helps you sleep better

I predicted the 9er fall last year before the season started, you argued with me then but I WAS RIGHT and you were SO WRONG, so yes, I will keep up my hawk friendly/F the 9er narrative became this is OUR site and OUR division. You can jump off the same cliff your team fell off. Or go back to your moms basement, there's abe a big pile of banged up, 9er players and fans egos down there. You know, just underneath the trash known as the Cardinals.

49ers may very well lose games this season but it will not be due to George Kittle.

The tight end position is in contention for most overvalued right now. It was reflected in the run on TE in the draft. The Hawks chose a bad time to make TE a major part of the offense.

It’s not a dumb argument at all. Would you rather have Kittle at 19.1 million a season for 4 years or Kupp at 15 million for 3 seasons . I would argue that there are more injury concerns with Kupp
Yes, it is a dumb strawman argument because

A: The receiver market is not the tight end market

B: Kupp is the 24th highest paid receiver, and making an average salary half as much as the 8th highest paid receiver while Kittle is tied for the highest paid tight end

C: Most importantly, I have said precisely jack and shit about the Kupp signing on here. Nothing. Check my receipts.

So F you, this is a bad signing, and I'm no hypocrite.

******* 49ers fans. Jesus Christ.

I don't understand why you engage Seahawk fans here. The comments are mean spirited. There is no possibility of a civil discussion, just insults. Why be a target for so much obnoxiousness. Life is too short.

That's rich considering the violent threats allowed on that cesspool called the Webzone. We can't be held responsible for idiots arguing strawman points.

This is the problem when fans fall in love with their star players. You really do need to let players go once they have hit they are no longer on the rise. They are not going to get any better, they are expensive, and their trade value starts tanking more and more.

It's always a tough decision when it comes to paying aging superstars, but I think the 49ers made the right choice here in paying Kittle.

Yes, he's 31 but he was still at the top of his game last year. Travis Kelce, btw, was 35 last year, so Kittle's a bit younger and may not experience a fall off for a couple of years.

They only guaranteed $40 million, so they could let him go at age 33. I don't think it was a tough decision.

But, as the original poster said, once they pay Brock Purdy, the 49ers are not going to have much wiggle room under the cap and it will make a difference.

And for the record, I appreciate the contributions of @94Smith and other 49er fans. I don't always agree, but they bring a different perspective to the discussion here. Let's disagree respectfully without shouting anyone down.

If he didn't start making false equivalencies while accusing me of double standards, I wouldn't have called him out.
