What pick were you most livid about that turned out to be incredible ?

Or

What pick were you most satisfied with that turned out to be a big fat turd ?

Whichever or turned out to be worse? Hell, list both if you prefer.

Mine was being absolutely livid we didn’t take Mark Sanchez. I was seriously pissed.

On the other side, I was dumbfounded we took Bruce Irving where we did. Dude turned out to be alright, but I was bummed when we selected him.

Aaron Curry. I thought he was going to be special.

I thought Rick Mirer was going to be it. I also thought Aaron Curry was a stud after listening forever before the draft about how he was the safest pick in the draft and how you couldn't go wrong with that pick. That's when I started taking analysis with a grain of salt. A lot of parroting going on.

I really like Rashaad Penny coming out of college, and was shocked, but happy that they picked him. It's a shame he didn't work out, he has a nice, humble personality, but that doesn't always make you a better player.

I can't really remember one where I was wrong, because I don't tend to overreact to picks. The only overreaction I remember was a case where I was right, if for the wrong reasons.

I hated the Aaron Curry pick. Not because I thought he'd flame out into the bust he turned out to be, but because our team was full of holes at every position EXCEPT linebacker, and we actually traded Julian Peterson to make room for Curry.

All the positions we needed help at, and we took a guy at the one we didn't.

Him being a bust was just icing on the cake for me.

Mines easy. But it doesn't really follow your questions. I was neither livid or satisfied with the pick. I remember thinking when he was picked in the 5th round thats a camp fodder pick for sure. No need to even do any research on him. He probably won't make it through training camp. He did make it through camp. He played sparingly at the beginning of his rookie year. On October 30th of his rookie year, he was put into the starting lineup because of injury. I remember thinking that we now had to rely on a 5th round pick to start at corner. I was nervous. Richard Sherman quickly made me realize I sucked at talent evaluation.

I've never been livid about a pick. More like indifferent. The pick I think I was most satisfied with at the time that turned into a turd was Rick Mirer. I remember being excited that they finally took a QB in the first round. Be careful what you wish for. At least they recouped a first round pick that later turned into Shawn Springs.

Yeah I fell for Mirer after watching that snow bowl game where he came back in the last minute then threw for the 2 pnt conversion to win it. I thought he was a winner. I didn't watch any other game of his and thought he'd be good. I learned a lesson on that one too, don't judge a player by any single game.

Yep, if we're going way back, I fell for the Mirer hype too. He had a decent rookie year too, which made it that much more frustrating when the wheels completely fell off. What a bust.

Curry was by far the guy I thought was going to be a star, bought his jersey in training camp.

I remember being really excited for Kelly Jennings, we know how that story goes.

I was young at the time and was not happy with Pete Kendall but he turned out to be pretty solid.

Im emotional, so I have many. Here's a few of the highlights:

Great pick I hated

- I was cursing up a storm when we took Lofa. Not only was it a major reach, but we traded UP to get him? I thought it was unfathomably stupid. Lofa was instrumental in getting us over the NFC hump into our first Super Bowl. Meanwhile, with our original pick, the Panthers took a RB who ended his career with fewer rushing yards than the following players had as Seahawks alone: Charlie Whitehurst, Trent Dilfer, Brock Huard, Troymaine Pope, Bryce Brown, Freddie Swain, Bo Scarborough, two punters I've never heard of, Charlie Frye.

- I literally threw a chair when we drafted Marcus Trufant with Jimmy Kennedy still on the board. My guy that draft was Johnathan Sullivan. I was so pissed when the Saints traded up in front of us and took him.

- If I had been running the 2010 draft, we would have left the first round with Dez Bryant and Jimmy Clausen instead of Russell Okung and Earl Thomas. That's probably a sentence I should delete.

Bad picks I hyped up

- I referred to Terreal Bierria as "Rodney Harrison" with range. Whoops.

- I was a HUGE fan of Kelly Jennings going into his draft. That was my #1 target for us that year. I actually think he was less of a disaster than he's largely remembered, and people have forgotten how well he did shutting down T.O. in a playoff game once, but wow did he have some of the worst ball skills I've ever seen. It doesn't matter if no receiver can shake you if you never know where the ball is.

- Malik McDowell was my #1 target going into his draft. I did think he was a risk, but not for the reason the teams that were scared off of him either were or should have been.

- I thought Amara Darboh was a crazy steal. I saw that guy make so many clutch catches in college. I don't get how he busted so spectacularly.

Same here…not looking too far back. If we’re going far back, Boz was definitely a let down.

I attribute a lot of the poor O-line play to K9 but…he’s looking very ‘hesitant’ these days and often injured. So much that I now think Charbs is a better back. Just my opinion folks.

Flip side…I had a ‘feeling’ with Wagner and that turned out great.

I also wanted Creed and Montez Sweat…

I really wanted Randy Moss. I didn't care about background reports. When he fell to us for the taking, I wasn't pleased the Hawks also passed. The selection of Anthony Simmons wasn't bad, but not a championship move that selecting Moss would represent. I understand, but at the same time play to win the game. I thought it would've been a worthwhile risk. Instead, a safe pick that essentially got us nowhere.

I just found an interesting Bleacher Report article discussing what that trade (Peterson for Cory Redding) meant for the top five teams in the draft.

The majority of on-looking fans have assumed that the Detoit Lions were going to use the top pick in the draft on former Georgia quarterback Matthew Stafford. However, because of his incredible talent and overwhelming showing at the combine, Wake Forest linebacker Aaron Curry's name had at least maintained position in the discussion. Curry is likely to remain on the board past the top spot now.

Unless the Lions are banking on Mark Sanchez with the 20th pick, it now appears the Lions have sold out on the new face of their franchise being Stafford.

No. 4: Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks have now placed their 2009 season into the questionable category. They moved their most productive linebacker to Detroit, and brought in a defensive tackle to keep people off Lofa Totupu.

The first question from the trade is: why would they move a productive linebacker for a tackle less than two weeks after signing free agent defensive tackle Colin Cole?

The second question from the trade is: if someone leapfrogs them, of if the Chiefs select Curry, what do the Seahawks do at four?
If, again for the sake of discussion we assume, the Lions take Stafford, the Rams take Jason Smith, and Curry goes third, the Seahawks have issues. They've acquired two big defensive tackles now, meaning BJ Raji isn't on their radar. If Curry's gone, they're not on the market for the next-best linebacker; at four, taking Rey Maualuga, Brian Cushing or James Laurinaitis is a stretch.

So we fall back to the name Crabtree. But the Seahawks just paid TJ Houshmandzadeh big money to play receiver, and they're still paying Deion Branch a nice penny as well. So Crabtree might not make financial sense for Seattle.
Logic, again under the premise that Curry is gone, would probably take Seattle to the offensive line. Eugene Monroe and Andre Smith will certainly still be available, and the Seahawks are in the third year of an exodus off of their o-line. Steve Hutchinson left for Minnesota before, and now Porkchop Womack has left for Cleveland.

Some of that is kind of funny in hindsight.
