I would be open to trading him, but we would have to receive better compensation than we would receive as a comp pick if we were to keep him for 2025 and then let him go in FA. The Raiders would get the comp pick if they were to let him go, so we would need extra compensation to make up for the 1 year on a rookie contract that the raiders would get.

I would trade Walker + 7th round pick for the Raiders 4th rounder. The upshot for the Hawks is that they turn a big question mark (7th rounder) into a much more likely contributor (4th rounder) with a fresh rookie contract.
Absolutely not. Horrible trade. Anything less than a 3rd (without us trading away a pick) I wouldn't even consider, and unless it's a high 3rd, it'd still be a no. But maybe that's why I'm not a GM.

Fact is he is injury prone and just slightly above average with 1 yr left. You’d take a 3rd and run

I saw the rumor the other day I didn’t make a post about it thinking the source wasn’t legit. I don’t expect the Seahawks to extend him after his rookie contract is up

I don’t believe in 2nd contract for RBs unless they are stars which there are not many. I do expect the Hawks to draft a RB this year

Am I the only one who remembers that Pete isn't the GM?

I never hear people talk about Mac making our picks. The only time people talk about him having power is when they want to give him credit for the LB cuts last year.

We lost enough talent on offense this year. I say we keep him and see if he breaks out. If he does than someone will sign next offseason and we get at least a 3rd 4th comp. Trading him for a 6th rounder who more than likely won't make the team seems like a failure option.

When they made that dumb trade for Geno, all bets were off as far as Pete's say in player personnel.

Oh brother 🙄
Charbs has a couple good games and magically he's Jim Brown.

K9 is a MUCH better back.

I don't think anyone is saying Charbs is the better back. K9 is clearly the more talented runner. It's just that Charbs style of one cut and go compared to K9 who will dance behind his line then try to spring it outside, is much better suited for the type of wide zone offense our new OC is implementing. You don't run a Ferrari through the mud just because it's a badass car.

I don't think trading for Geno is enough evidence to say Pete is actually running the show. The Raiders needed a QB and there's a death of options. The GM got the coach one that both fits the direction of the team and was somebody the head coach likes and has familiarity with. I think any good GM, or any good leader in general, is going to value the opinions of others involved in the organization.

Aside from Geno, I don't see where the Raiders are bending over backwards to bring in everyone Pete has history with. Their GM isn't a figurehead; he's a well-regarded executive from a respected organization. He was hired before Pete and knows he only answers to Davis.

I'm sure he'll accept and value input from Pete, but I think making assumptions about what the Raiders are going to do based on Pete's history when he did have control over player personnel is short sighted. I don't think anyone over there is clamoring to become Seahawks Slightly East. They want future teams to try to become Raiders whatever direction.

Walker will be in the thick of the All-Pro discussion if he stays healthy. Don't be surprised if we have to franchise tag him next season, and when there's no discussion of whether that's the right decision. I'm not wanting to let another team reap our benefits for like a fifth round pick. If the OL does get better, I'm much more excited about the potential of someone with Walker's game breaking ability than someone like Charbs, who over the course of a full season would probably barely average four yards per carry.

It's just not worth whatever the Raiders would be likely to offer. Trying to buy low would be smart of them.

I 100% agree. I don’t think there is any truth to this rumor. There’s a lot of ifs… if K9 can stay healthy, if the line gets better, which I fully expect it will for a few different reasons. K9 can be a top back in this league. He’s only 24, he will likely be extended and hopefully realize his full potential. Charbonnet is the better scheme fit but K9 can excel in this scheme too. This RB draft is so deep teams won’t want to part with a draft pick because the pick will be cheap and under longer control in comparison.

I dont think he is a star, i know he is. I dont know how one could dispute the dude has elite talent. The fact that he has been underutilized has no bearing on what he can do. Nor does speculation on what was offered for him.

And RBs are sometimes injured. See S Barkley...

Walker had been playing behind a line and in an offense that leads to early contact fairly consistently. His running style + being mobbed in the backfield or line of scrimmage almost every down is a big reason he has been injured. Give him soace to work and i guarantee you that wont be an issue.

A 6th rounder Keas. Come on man. I almost guarantee if it was a 3rd, MM and JS would jump on it. A "star" RB would command a 1st. See where this is going? Again, I like Walker and think he's talented, but the fact is he hasen't played a full season in the 3 years he's been in the league and that's very troublesome.

Now this is all very interesting.

I think there's a really good chance K9 produces at a higher level in Kubiak's offense, but the injuries and underwhelming production thus far are worth mentioning. Him coming into his last year on his rookie contract is relevant to this as well. If we were to do this, I'd want Pete to over pay because of K9's home run potential. Does that mean K9 and we swap first rounders? I don't know the numbers but I'd be good with that. Maybe K9 for their 2nd? Either way, I'd be targeting Ashton Jeanty as a replacement.
