I’m honestly surprised they got a third. I think the Pete connection is the only reason why.
Same here, I was thinking a lower 4th or a higher 5th. A third, a higher 3rd showed how much Pete wants Geno. I am still puzzled that he got Brady and Chip to sign off on the trade.

I do feel bad for our 4-5 Geno defenders but I ask them to look at it this way….isnt this fun? They’re making a ton of moves, new staff etc. let’s see how it plays out. Successful or a failure at least they’re not the Mariners who love mediocrity.

Yep and chip skipped Geno twice in the draft so it’s a little weird?

Don't feel bad for just the few of us. Feel bad for all of us when we're rolling out Sam Darnold.

I am an openly Geno Smith fanboy, and I have been advocating for Geno to find a new home since the end of the last season. I don't think staying in Seattle will add much to his football career, monetarily or in terms of glory.

Today, I got my wish.

Anyone know which 3rd pick we got from the Raiders? I believe they have two. They Raiders organic 3rd rounder is close to a high second.
According to OTC.com, they have only one... #68 overall. CORRECTION: #73 overall.

EDITED to add: My answer above may be after the Geno trade... because sites are now saying Seattle has pick #73 overall... which came from the Jets originally but was awarded to the Raiders as part of the WR Davante Adams trade.

Well, I'm going to miss Geno, top notch guy who had a great story. However, this is EXACTLY what we needed. If we end up getting a decent haul for DK, we're going to be in line to do some things in the draft that will allow for a long term rebuild instead of trying to plug holes and reload with a 2nd tier roster every year. I'm not buying the Darnold talk....they have to be eyeing someone in the draft.

He had 35. You ever watch him play ? Look at his numbers previous 6 seasons. He'll never throw over 30 again. Reminds me of Matt Flynn
Maybe? But he was massively better than Geno last year. I still would rather Seattle go young and cheaper but we will see

I think Darnold is much better and have been saying it for months and the Geno crowd has hated it every time I’ve said it. Apparently Seattle agrees with me so I’ll take a small victory lap. Kidding and I would rather they go cheaper and young. I do think Darnold is better but he’s similar to Geno in a lot of ways
