Whatever will be, will be.

Geno is unlikely to get any substantial new deal here. My belief w/o any confirmation. Getting rid of couple of other contracts could have him stay for his final year of his contract.

He has no guaranteed money for this year save a roster bonus of $16 mil payable on the 5th day of the new league year. Not paying that roster bonus will make him a FA and result in $13.5 mil of dead money against this season's cap for the Hawks, and he's gone. If LV is in fact interested in him they could pick up his whole contract including the prorated bonus of 13.5 for a late round pick and have him for a season comparatively cheap.

Time will tell. My bet is that he's likely gone
This.

He wants money he's not going to get. I'd be surpsrised if he even gets the $44.5 million he's on the hook for this season. From Seattle, at least.

Keep political references etc out of it.

Also I’d rather they keep Earnest Jones if it comes down to it.

He's just posturing before any such talks begin. The bottom line is he's worth what the market will pay him. I just don't want us to pay him much more than anyone else would. That's just bad business.

For those who don't want to click on an X link, which I did by accident, it's a GIF of some guy grabbing a suitcase and walking out of a crowded room. I think it might be of Lebron James, but it's pretty grainy.

Just attention seeking stuff. Probably means nothing, but he wants you to think it does.
Or it could be a negotiating tactic, a bluff to make JS think that he wants out and will sweeten the pot in order to get him back on board.

I was of the mind to let Geno go in the first place, and if no other option exists, roll the dice with Howell. We're more than a player or two away from a championship team and have a number of holes to fill.
