That's a lot of coin for an average QB who has never won a playoff game, is a turnover machine and a crap record against elite teams.
To be competitive next year, I think he’s our best option.

But I wholeheartedly agree with your post. The team is relatively young. There’s a few getting up there but…

I wouldn’t mind us drafting a guy…at all. Easier said then done.

People saying there is zero chance he’s gone because anyone who knows football knows he staying were always off. He may very well stay but he’s going to have to concede some things at this point he doesn’t want to

One year behind Geno, I'm in. Long term deal at 45 plus per? Hell no.
Like many players in the NFL, him and his agent clearly have an inflated opinion of how good he is.
And so be it, I will never fault a guy for trying to get that bag. I just don't think he deserves it. Just my own opinion.

After the 'walkaway' video posted yesterday by him - who knows WTF is going on. It sounds like he wants more than he's gonna get.
He's said in an interview he deserves top 10 money because he's elite. I serisouly doubt the Seahawks see it that way so as I said months ago this could get ugly and people claiming "you don't know football" if you don't think its a lock Geno is back were always wrong. I would still put the odds on him being back but it will be with a team friendly deal that he currently doesn't want.

Maybe I have missed it but where did anyone say "you don't know football" if you don't think it's a lock that Geno is back. I know I have always said the smartest move is to extend him but I have never said what you mentioned. Since a couple people have attacked me for my opinion I just want to make that clear.

I have not read the statement but Geno can't seriously think he's elite. Elite does not mean #12-18 in the league of 32 starters. I also think he comes back but I wouldn't pay him more than $30 million/year base (you can add incentives.) He's at best above average.

Pretty sure he wasn't referring to you. If Geno wants a huge contract we should move on. That's been my opinion from the start.

Could just be him shooting the sh** with his longtime friend, JS.
To me. It definitely looked business related.

I’d be surprised but not shocked to see at least one Seahawk heading to Vegas. Maybe two.

Do we have any oft injured 3rd down RBs that stay on the roster for years without actually playing to send PC? Doesn't he collect them?

My speculations on staying in Seattle or going to Vegas, from Geno's eyes:
  1. Vegas has a head coach who loves him, and Seattle has a GM who has shown the opposite of that.
  2. Staying in Seattle provides no continuity as we have hired a new OC.
  3. OC to OC, self-made Chip has a better resume than papa's boy Kubiak.
  4. Vegas has a better OL, not by much, but better.
  5. Seattle has better RBs and WRs, but Vegas has more cap space and draft picks. With Lockett likely release, Vegas can pick him up to provide a comfy option.
  6. Vegas has a better TE group.
  7. Schneider's best option is for Geno to play out the last year of his current contract, Vegas likely give Geno a 2+1 deal.
Now, if you were Geno Smith?
