Happy for him, but it's a poor situation: No quarterback, poor roster overall, cheap owner, and tough division with KC, Broncos and Chargers. Four potential HOF coaches in the same division.
On the upside, you do have Brock Bowers and Maxx Crosby and almost $100 million in cap space.
They could grab a Darnold or Cousins relatively easily, and they have a pretty great foundation to build around.
Brock Bowers is a new superstar, they hit big on two offensive linemen last draft in Glaze and JPJ, and they've got a few decent defenders on the roster (especially Crosby).
They need some help at the offensive skill positons and overall defensive help, but they've got money and picks. They've got 6th overall and 4 picks in the top 75.
This is an incredible situation for Carroll, and I'd argue that its an absolutely ideal place for a rebuild outside of perhaps some cash poorness on Mark Davis' end complicating huge FA signings.
But that division... yeah, bit of a buzzsaw.
