And F Geno's support for him too. Im sure Grubb calling the game Sunday to get Geno his incentives was a huge middle finger to the franchise, knowing he woukd be fired anyway. Shame on Geno for giving the guy credit and flat ignoring the BS he allowed to play out all year.

- Geno already had over 70% completion for the year, he would have had to have a really bad game to NOT get it.
- He needed something like 186 yards passing to get the yardage mark. That's a pretty average to low game. It's not like Grubb had to pass on every down to do this. Just call a normal, balanced game for once.
- the third incentive was 10 wins. Did Macdonald NOT want to win, just to give Geno the shaft? That's an idiotic notion.

I have not seen anything from the Seahawk camp that suggests that anyone was upset about Geno meeting his incentives.

Darn your logic! It's a valid point though.

I think the problem is that Grubb not only didn't follow his head coach's orders, he committed the cardinal sin of failing at it. If the offense had been putting up 35-40 points a game, or heck if they'd managed to score on the first drive in half or more of the games, we'd probably be talking about how to balance the offense rather than who the new OC will be.

So, you think that just Grubb is the reason we're not in the playoffs? Um........there are SEVERAL reasons they didn't make it. He's just one of them.
The defense crapping the bed in some of the home losses. The turnover machine that is gePICK. A horrific O Line.

I don't think he's the only reason at all. He's not my scapegoat - he was just the BIGGEST correctable issue.

Oline's on JS. And I've said several times that after PC left he's been exposed. I think JS should go. He hasn't built an Oline yet. Not sure why we're expecting him to. And we can't really go any further without one.

Grubb was PART of it. To think that he's the ONLY reason is not only plain silly, but also just more Geno apologist stuff.
The O line is PATHETIC. That is not ONLY because of the OC.
Grubb didn't throw a ridiculous number of interceptions, including several in the red zone. And that's not counting the SEVERAL that were dropped by defenders. He wasn't good enough; he was fired for it. But dear god, the Geno isn't at fault stuff is laughable.

I’m honestly surprised MM didn’t look like one of those angry looney tunes characters about to blow his top when Grubb had like 7 tries to score from the one and called shit pass plays on most of them.

That’s like being married to a woman who you catch being bukkake’d by ten dudes while she’s cosplaying in her wedding dress.

She may be a great mother and PTA president, but you just can’t recover from that.

I'm willing to see Geno behind a decent line for a season.

But if you can't get him a tick or more after the snap, he's just not your guy. Bad decisions and missed reads galore under pressure.

But also c'mon - when you have 1.2 seconds to throw the ball and get sacked 7 times in a game......

I haven't read the article yet but I always felt strongly that Mike was biting his tongue quite a bit throughout the season. I could just feel they were not seeing eye-to-eye and I thought since we kept seeing the same thing offensively week in and week out, that either Grubb was flat out ignoring Mike or something else, perhaps hoping the OL would get rolling.

I never once felt those two were on the same page this season.

Yeah, that feeling hit me a bit as well. I am mildly surprised and thought he'd get one more season, but upwards and onwards.

Makes me think of a quote from Holmgren many years ago about Hasselbeck changing the playcall. Basically, he said, "Yeah he can change the playcall, but it damn well better work." If what Grubb tried had resulted in more wins, you may be right, we'd be duscussing what changes he would need to do this year.
