Another season ends on the question of , 'why didnt they run the ball from inside the 5?...'
Yup. That whole drive was nothing but gimmes with the draws up the middle. After the Rams show they're going to stop the clock, why aren't you running on your first play there?

I mean, McBride had leverage, Murray just threw the ball too high, so it's not a terrible play call but situationally it makes no sense.

So f'n frustrating.

Perfect example of how a dumb call by a coach can cost a game.

It shouldnt have some down to a perfectly placed throw. You had the opportunity to force the Rams to stop the clock. You have a mobile, running qb threat. Plenty of options there better than what they ran.

The Cardinals still had two freaking timeouts. You run the damn ball there each and every time because even if you don't score there, you are not giving the Rams enough time to do anything at the very end. So freaking moronic. Super Bowl 49 level moronic!

The season ended when they lost to the Giants.
Yes, just like the Steelers season when they lost to the Browns... oh wait.

Or the Rams season when they lost to Chicago... oh wait.

Or the Ravens season when they lost to the Raiders... and Browns... oh wait.

Or the Texans season when they lost to the Titans... and Jets... oh wait.

It's easy to say that was the 'end of the season', but it wasn't. We decide to kick that FG against LA last time, maybe we're in a different spot now. If Geno doesn't throw those picks against SF in the first game, maybe we're in a different spot now. If Geno doesn't get injured against Green Bay, maybe we're in a different spot now. If Julian Love had not cheated so far inside against Minnesota, maybe we're in a different spot now.

When you are in a situation when what's holding you out of the playoffs comes down to the 'Strength of Victory' tiebreaker, you can obviously point to a million different individual moments and say 'See! That's when the season was really over!', but the truth is, our season isn't even technically over now and if it was, it ended on that Kyler Murray interception, not a moment before.

The team lost five additional games after the Giants one, and with any of those game differently, next week's game means something.

We were probably one of the healthiest teams in the league this year too. We're just not there yet.
