Something changed since his rookie year...what is it? He was so good as a rookie. QBs avoided his side of the field by midseason. Now, they target him on 3rd and long. I can't say what the change is but I'm guessing it's Riq, not environment. After all the hype around #2 DROY...he changed his name. Maybe he just got too big for his britches and stopped "competing". Sure it could be that WRs have tape on him. Maybe the difference in D scheme... But it seems more like it's Riq than what's going on around him. If it's him, it's also fixable...if he's willing. MMac would probably be a better judge than us, on the outside. If so, we'll have a pretty good idea about him this off season....
His success as a rookie went to his head. Plus being around Quandre Diggs didn't help. He used to have a chip on his shoulder (his rookie season). Now he's on the field making business decisions (like not tackling, making half-hearted effort, etc).

The players are millionaire children, spoiled rotten brats who respect violence or the threat of it. If you observe, you can see childish behavior that was never corrected. If DK had a Father figure in the home, his Mama ruled the roost. So many black children have no father in the home, or father figure number 1 2 or 3. Think of Sherm or Beast mode, their only role model worshipped them.
Y'all be on here just saying all manner of sucka shit. F U C K you, your dusty mom and the hole you climbed out of. The audacity of a motherfucker from the "race" that violently traversed the GLOBE, conquering and colonizing saying some shit like this. 😂

What is the percentage of fathers and mothers who stay married in the black homes in 2020? What was the percentage in 1950. It is the same in white homes, lower than it was, but when 80% of violent crime is perpetrated by 17% of the population, it cannot be ruled out.

What's the excuse for all of the white kids from "loving", nuclear families that grab their roost ruling daddy's rifles and shoot their classmates and teachers up? Also, going off of stats and percentages, white men should never be left alone with minors. And white female teachers should be denied at the door for junior/senior high teaching jobs. Finally, I hope you don't work in finance. It "can't be ruled out" that you'll defraud a bunch of folks outta billions in your fancy white collared shirt.

News flash, your race (skin color) has nothing to do with whether you do bad (or good) things or not. All people are capable of great good and great evil.
Edit: last time I checked this was a football board.

News flash: THAT'S. MY. ENTIRE. POINT.
Are you not reading lil jeremiah's posts that I'm replying to? You should be directing that energy to that twat. And RiverDog.

Edit: Last time I checked it still IS a football board. And if some silly bastard feels froggy enough to start that caveman bullshit, then I'm more than obliged to set them straight and finish it. I notice you still didn't say anything to the sucka that started this whole exchange, though.

I'm honestly wondering if there's something going on in Riq's personal life that has him bummed out in general. Or maybe he just isn't digging living in and/or playing for the (Mike Mac coached) Seahawks. Whatever it is, he just simply doesn't seem to be the same happy go lucky, jovial, lighthearted cat that he was last season.

Whatever it is, be it personal or otherwise, I really hope that he figures it out, for HIS sake, cuz I genuinely like the young man. Depression is real. And the outward effects manifest in a myriad of ways.

ETA: In case it's not obvious, I'm totally spitballing, here. I don't know anything about him on a personal level beyond what he displays in the media.

Woolen isn't the only player to do that crap, and it's one of the things about today's athletes that I have never gotten used to. That kind of behavior defines the gap between generations. I see players celebrating an incompletion when they're behind by 3 TD's with 5 minutes left in the game.
It’s the participation generation no achievement is beneath trophies and celebration. Even the season ending…IMG 4807

I see it too. It’s like he’s not all in, the question is why

You didn't set anyone straight. You just went on an emotionally unhinged rant and started spitting the same "racist" crap you claim bothers you

Riq showed the same tendencies with Pete last season and was benched for it. It was also a rap on him coming out of college. I honestly don't think coaching staff or some kind of personal difficulties explains his lack of enthusiasm and tackling issues. Keep in mind that Riq is a converted wide receiver, so he may not be completely comfortable playing defense.

He has one more year left on his rookie contract, and at this point, I don't see him getting a 2nd deal with us.

I think Riq's difficulties come from some officials calling things one way while others call the same thing another way. He cant seem to make in game adjustments for physicality allowed or penalized.
But I agree his enthusiasm for tackling is sub par.
