Both.....fo sho, yo.
Furthermore, of course some of it is on Geno. What people are failing to grasp or understand, is that there isnt an available solution that is better than Geno. There is no QB available in FA that is better than Geno. Baker or Darnold or whoever else people think are better options, aren't better option in reality on the field.
If we change out Geno for any of those other QBs, you would quickly realize they have their own warts when you get to watch every snap they play every game.
The odds are overwhelmingly against any QB coming out of college ever getting to the level that Geno plays at right now and has since he took over here. There might be a handful of them every few years that reach that level, but most will flame out or hover in the below average journeyman range. Even IF you found one with that potential, they almost certainly wont get to that level in the next 2 years. Not only are you counting on winning the lottery to even find a QB that might be good someday, you're also counting on hitting the lottery a 2nd time to find that rare guy that can do it right away. That strategy is more than acceptable if yo7 keep someone like Geno while you take shots, but gets you fired if put all your eggs in that basket. There's a reason the position is so valuable, scarcity!
Critique and analyze until your hearts content, as fans are supposed to do, but we part ways when the conversation enters the realm of thinking there are better QBs available to us. There's different, there's better that's unavailable, there's worse, but there isn't better and available.
Denver's best win is Tampa. Washington's best win is Arizona. Patriots have lost 4 in a row and are 1-7 under Maye. Stroud doubled his INTs and has no rushing TDs.
Can we chill on how amazing these teams are.
Not only is it hope. The odds are against them ever being as good as Geno is right now
I guarantee you in 5 years that maybe only 1 of those teams has the same starting QB.Nobody thinks that they are amazing, but they are set up for the future with their young QB's. Seattle is not.
My point is, doesn't matter who you bring in at QB, if his line can't block fir him it's meaningless. But don't take my word on it, listen to any and every football expert that all say the same thing. We need both. Why folks still don't get that is beyond me.

You've never seen Geno behind a good oline.I get it, but my point is that I don't think a good Oline is going to elevate Smith to a higher level than we've already seen. I've said it from the beginning that Geno doesn't have the mental capabilities to take a team to the Super Bowl or even deep into the post season and I still feel that way.
Name your wager.I'll take that bet.
I have to repost thisI'd like to have Joe Milton in a trade, I may be wrong about him but
I think he may be good if given a chance.
He has the tools to do it and the height I like. I think he'd be a buy low
option really that could pay off big.
Rat, this might be your best post. Common sense. Thank you for saying this out loud.Stanton is such an attention whore, it wouldn't surprise me to find out that his last name is actually Kelce.
Id prefer to not commit to Geno as the starter for next year, because I think we know who he is and I don't expect further development from him, but I believe there's at least a legitimate argument for riding with him for the last year of his deal. However, it absolutely floors me that there are fans who actually want to extend him with a new contract that would start in his age 36 season. We're seeing the Falcons get burned on giving a guy that old a new contract, and nearly every example of a QB being a high-quality starter into their late 30s are guys who have been doing it for forever. They aren't guys you pay and hope they finally take that next step.
