Does our offensive playbook include a QB Sneak?

Just watched Stafford get 5 yards on a 4th and 1 sneak. Made me sad

It's been this way for forever. We had Russell Wilson, a man with the ideal build for the QB sneak, at a time when Tom Brady routinely made them look like cake, and we still weren't trying them.

We've tried earlier in the year, but when the D-linemen are in the backfield before the ball is in the QB's hands they don't work well.

It's largely on OL play, or lack thereof.

So handing it off 5 yards deep improves our chances? We know the snap count and the defense doesn't, even if our OL doesn't move Geno should be able to get 6 inches behind the center (there was clearly space at the goal line).

This team has a hard time getting ONE yard. Look at all the failures after all those chances on the 1-yard line. Could not get in after what…6 tries?

No physicality up front at all. You win in the trenches and this team (at least on the offensive side of the ball) is not built that way.

It’s embarrassing to be honest with you. I posted in the gameday thread I had zero faith we could get one yard and well, we didn’t.

This team needs to draft trenches, trenches, trenches and more trenches.

3rd and goal from inside the one, they showed an overhead shot. There was a player and a half gap in front of the center. Easy call to sneak it there. Can't believe there isn't a audible for it.

Try it...OL steps on your foot or drop snap.... Don't try it and get sacked for a loss of 10. I think a play-action QB run to the outside would be more successful considering IOL/penetration problems. Geno can run but it's not called...only on blown plays.

7 or 8 tries to get a touchdown and we end the series with a 15 yard sack on 4th down.

Pure speculations from ole toffee:
  1. Coaching, for whatever reason our coaches do not believe in QB Sneak.
  2. Geno might have an understanding with the coaches that he couldn't or wouldn't do QB sneaks.
  3. Geno audibled QB sneaks out in the huddle.
You guess is as good as mine.
