Interesting that the Giants paid $5 million to get Drew Lock and he's not even going to start in place of Daniel Jones. What's that all about? Have they decided that Drew Lock isn't that good after all?

The Giants are putting out an east coast Italian boy to put butts in the seats. Lock gives them a better chance at winning, but like the Mariners owners, the Giant's owners just care about the bottom line.

There's something to what you say, but those Giants season tickets were sold a long time ago, and those ticket holders are selling their tickets no matter who's playing QB at this point.

That's the beauty of the NFL. The owners make money whether they win or lose.

As much as I like piling on Drew Lock, DeVito is a fan favorite and went .500 last year. The fans deserve him for a few week. I'm sure Lock will start at some point this season.

The Drew Lock hate on this board is weird. There's a portion of this fan base so conditioned to obsessively prop up Geno by ripping apart anyone remotely threatening to his status as Supreme Leader, that they're still doing it to those players after they leave.

By all accounts, Lock is a good guy who played well when pressed into action, never deflected responsibility for his shortcomings, and never had a bad thing to say about anyone. Yet, people are rooting for him to fail with the league's worst team, because some fans were in favor of him keeping the starting job in the midst of the emotional high of a big primetime win, fresh off a six-game stretch where the team went 1-5, with that win being a last-second victory over a Commanders team that ended up getting the second pick in the draft, led by Sam Howell, who still lit us up to the tune of 300+ passing yards with 3 TDs and 0 INTs.

Geno isn't going to send hired goons to break your legs and confiscate your Fan Card if you don't take joy in the misfortunes of his former backup.

There is now wide-spread speculation that the Giants are playing Tommy DeVito to avoid paying Drew Lock an extra $3 million that is due if he reaches his incentives, which includes playing time.

Drew Lock was interviewed about his reasons for not starting, and he would only say that it was an "interesting" decision.

Meanwhile, to add insult to injury, the Giants had Daniel Jones play safety on the scout team defense during practice today.

This is what a dysfunctional organization looks like.

If Winston can be out there playing so can Lock but I think Lock has more upside and still a chance to resurrect his career. The NFL QB landscape is in constant flux and never really settled for most of the teams when at most there are 7-10 franchise caliber QBs in the league.

The benching of Danny Dimes is sad to hear but the upside is he needs a fresh start with a new organization. I have a feeling that some organization will pounce on him once he is outside of the sphere of Giants abyss.

I was a HUGE Lock supporter for the same reason i supported Geno ehrn everybody said we woukd be hopeless.

I thought that he'd improve if given the right support and he did. But he sat in the same room as Geno, got the same coaching, and he just never got over the hump.

If he needed a good supporting FO and staff to help, he isnt going to get that NY. Maybe he will again some day and 3 years from now put it together the way Geno has or the way the QB in Minny is thriving.

But to argue that he's getting shafted because he isnt starting... if there were more evidence (including his couple of chances in the preseason this year) to show he has taken the next step i coukd get with that argument.

Maybe it will click for him one day. God knows he has the physical tools and like you said, he seems like a genuinely nice guy. Just not sure he's done it yet in NY.

Hard to decide which team is more dysfunctional, Giants or Jets, New Yorkers only have the Bills to look at these days, a few decades ago they wouldn't even acknowledge they existed.
