Last year... because of a lingering elbow injury he sustained at the end of a 9 sack season......

Also.. top picks? Proven talent.. with a single off year because of injury to an.. elbow? Ah yes.. college prospects.. what a win win situation
He wants top dollar also. Which could prevent us from signing someone currently on the team later on. There is a lot to not like about a trade for him. He is 29, had 2.5 sacks, injury concerns, and wants to be paid like the player he was two years ago.

I’d rather give up nothing, and sign a guy like Von Miller for a year.

Mills plays DT behind Murphy right? J Reed is our NT with Pili behind him. There’s no law (pun intended) that says they can’t be shuffled around, but ideally we’d be 2 deep with starter-capable DL across the line so we can keep everyone fresh without a steep dropoff as we substitute.

Williams/Morris are our incumbent DE, so we could stand pat there. The other DLaw and Ivey to me have the most urgent need for a succession plan, with Nwosu/Hall on the other side probably a couple years out.
Nwosu and Hall have a lot to prove to me this year for them to stay..... Though based on Mafes production they should make 50 million a year lol

He sucked last season. I would be pissed if we gave up 64 for him, much less 32. You can get far better for the 32 pick, than a guy with career low numbers.

Why is it that anytime anyone requests a trade, hawkblogger is right there wanting the hawks to trade all our top picks for them?
That's why I don't pay attention to any of these local fans that have a YouTube channel. They don't know anymore than you or I or anyone else on .NET.

Dexter Lawrence wants to be the highest-paid defensive tackle. How does that fit into the Seahawks' plan or salary cap?

Giants hold the cards on where he goes if they end up trading him. They'll prefer an AFC team as well. ...doesn't mean he won't end up in NFCW, but if he does, it'll be more costly than an AFC team.

That is a big move. I bet Cinci fans are stoked with it though. They haven't been getting much impact from the draft the last few years. Probably feel like better chances with this move trying to win now.

At least Dexter is going to the AFC so I'm cool with this.

$20M for Mafe and $30(?) for Lawrence? Great if that line rebuild works out. Both players going from a 3-4 to a 4-3. Mafe's ability to hold the edge is sus. Lawrence will have an easier time of it, going from 2-gapping to single.

Cinci's D was garbage last year though, ranking 30th in points. Although the only defense worse against the run was the Giants...

Everyone has opinions. If the Bengals want to massively overpay in a trade then good for them. Personally I wouldn't trade for Lawrence's current contract for more than a 5th round pick, (with the expectation that he wants a new deal). Some Seahawks fans wouldn't want him at zero trade cost even if he would play on his current contract. Lawrence isn't a player i'd take a massive risk for.
