Little ruffles my middle-aged feathers more than hearing that the Seahawks "only" played the Broncos, Patriots and Tua-less Dolphins to pad their 3-0 start. So %$#@*&! what? I always counter with, do these same people judge Tom Brady for all of those Super Bowl rings due to a perpetually cupcake division they beat up on year after year?

Hypocrisy is rampant depending on the team.

Sure, it may be more impressive if we are taking out the top teams in the NFL to start 3-0. I get that. But it's lazy and ignorant to even slightly suggest somehow our 3-0 record is less impressive based on perceived opponent strength.

As many players have said over the years - and I believe it to be 100% true - "It's hard to win in the NFL."

You're gawdamm right it is. ANY team in the NFL is perfectly capable of beating ANY other team in the NFL any given gameday, period. Just look at the mountain of evidence that proves my point over the years.

So go ahead, Hawks. Own your record. Pay no mind to the mediots that want to write you off so far, until you play "a real contender". Meh.

Don't bother getting on the bandwagon in a month when we are 6-2. We don't need your disingenuous stank.

EVER

Downplaying, making excuses and apologizing for a win is just plain lame.
Not trying to start an argument or tell people how to fan but..........not being able to just enjoy a WIN is strange af. Creepy and Sad...... TO ME.

Some people don't care as much about getting hyped up (especially in sports when greater hype typically leads to greater disappointment).

I am very happy with the record so far and it is surpassing my expectations. I am looking forward to seeing a true test against the Lions to see where this team is now and/or where they are going. One thing I was happy to see (even though there was a lull on offense midway through the game) against these Dolphins, is that the team at least looked like it controlled a game against an opponent it was supposed to win against. Which was something we would NOT see with Pete Caroll's Seahawks, who did a good job making every back up QB look like they could actually win a game they should not.

In a lofty place tanglin' with Satan over history.
We won a lot of games before Super Bowl 49. So, yeah, it can be.
I simply can't understand this logic. What exactly is the purpose of even waisting all of the time/money watching games, buying memorabilia, rooting for a team/players, and commenting online about sports if this is your mentality? We had to win "a lot of games" to even have the pleasure of playing in SB49. I. JUST. DON'T. GET. IT!

Some people rather enjoy wins (and good football games) without setting their expectations too high. I'd bet most people do this to a degree with anything where we don't know what we're getting until we got it (movies, new TV shows, some random product ordered online, etc.). It's just doing the same thing with a football team.

All in how you look at it. I'm good just enjoying every win, thoroughly. No matter how it looks or who they are playing against.
There was a time when I would get worked up over how it looked, should have won by more blah blah blah.
But it's been a while. Could not give two sh*** how they win. You either get the W or you don't.

Win by 30, win by 1. Still counts the same.
"But, they almost lost!" Yeah, but...........THEY DIDN'T. Can't count how many times I've had to say that to someone who pulls out the "they almost lost" card. Meh

Indeed! I at least wish folks would wait until Monday to start criticizing the team for winning. Please, just let us bask in the joy of winning for one day before you start with the "nice win, but..." crap. Hell, even the coach waits until he watches the game film.

And the likely reality is this: As soon as they lose their first game, whenever that is......SEE, THIS TEAM ISN'T THAT GOOD!!!!!
News flash: They're gonna' lose some games.

3-0 is fantastic. I don't mind people being hyped (just as long as you don't become an annoying doom and gloomer if we end up 4-4 or something lol).

I haven't seen anyone do what I would call apologizing for the Hawks being 3-0 (yet) but definitely some comments that seem like people trying to pump the brakes on the excitement a bit. With the callout in the OP here, it seems like people are oversimplifying the people who aren't hyped enough for their liking into disregarding what the team has done so far.

Unless you're something like a hardcore PC loyalist who wants to see the team lose out of spite, we're probably all happy about this. Some just want to see more before getting hyped. Others don't want to get super hyped about anything that's out of their control.

I'm there with ya. I feel GREAT about where we are and have loved how the team is playing...for the most part. I mostly see pundits asking the question "are they for real or not?"...which is fine considering the points cited about our competition. It doesn't get my panties bunched b/c we have not beaten a team considered top end (Miami does not count due to obvious reasons).

Our OLine does have questions, Charbs has struggled more than not, and the injuries are concerning. Those are not the sky is falling, they are legit observations. I still feel great and think we can compete and win against any other team b/c of the talent and leadership running the show. Loved Petey...but this is better. I'll use Stoned Forsythe as an example...I crushed him week 1 (and preseason), but stated "the best thing for all of us is to hope he can get coached up and perform". He's played better and is serviceable as of the last game...that is great coaching. He still allows too much pressure on Geno, but fortunately our QB is smart and agile enough to work through it most of the time.

Team is 3-0 and should continue to improve. D is lights out. If we can address the major concerns, we should see a deep playoff run at a minimum.

3 - 0 is great, better that they don't think they have all the answers and see problems they want to fix. The competition isn't a big deal, the difference between a winning team and losing team is a small margin. Being able to improve and build on the good is how you get consistent winning along with seeing, admitting and fixing weaknesses which we are doing.

Win by one or win by 30 are different. That one point game should be more enjoyable to watch than a blowout. Although I remember some really awesome blow outs! A lot of classic mail biters too. In a way tho the point differential really does tell a story. Not long ago the Vikings squeaked by opponents and won 13 games but less than their opponents. They got bounced right away. We did it that one year too.

The Pete Carroll Seahawks would've given the 2nd and 3rd string QBs for Miami plenty of time to plant their feet and pick Seattle's secondary apart.

Waldron's bastard ass offense would've gone 3 and out so many times our punter would've had to ice his leg .
