I loved the pick, I don't like the results on the field. He is not even an upgrade on others who manned that position as of yet. There is still time, he is still in the preseason in a sense of time played.

I am usually a critic but have no issue with the pick based on who was there and the results so far. Still unhappy about not taking a QB the year before but PC had already turned into a moron so it was expected.

Are you basing that off his sack total?
Inability to stuff the run. I don't expect sacks from a DT, a stout run defense is all that matters at this point. As he gains experience he will get some sacks, maybe in bunches. NE looked like the Redskins with the Hogs in front of Joe Theissman. The crushed the D, nearly to the point of exhaustion.

He is getting double and triple teams on just about every play. Stats don't always tell the story. I trust former NFL players who say he's already making impact.
Sorry Jeremiah, but you sound like someone who doesn't even actually WATCH the game. He's drawing raves from former NFL players.
He's not an upgrade? You came up with that after 2 games of being double and triple teamed??? He's opening up opportunities for others to feast.
That's how football works

Let me guess, you wanted Carter instead of Spoon too?

He's only a rookie already making an impact!
What do think happens after the season ends and he sets up training
to improve for next year? It's going to be glorious!

Are you sure that was on Murphy?

Too add to This part right here 2 games into his PRO NFL CAREER… and the leagues game plan for him is to double and triple team him… that says a lot about how much they respect him to command half the Oline to defend 1 guy. Let alone a Rookie.

That speaks volumes, sorry it doesn’t blow the stat sheet, or score you points in FF, but regardless that’s a hell of a feat in itself that the leagues immediately choosing to double and triple team him.

(1000% agree with Soulfishhawk)

I went back and looked at all their big run plays; Murphy either wasn't on the field or they were running away from him.

He's been a factor. He's played more than half the snaps on defense, 58% against the Patriots, and 56% against the Broncos. He tends to come in for passing downs.

He gets mediocre scores against the run, but he's been solid rushing the passer, with half a sack and one QB hit. He also has one tackle for loss. And all those came in the Patriots game, so maybe we will see more this week.
