Interesting typo in the thread title. No, not the very common mistake with the Title Stealers' name. The other one.
The thread title as I'm looking at it now is "More Russ, every okay he played as a Steelers in one video"
The "O" key is right next to the "P" key on a "QWERTY" keyboard, and the "K" key is right next to the "L" key. And OP obviously meant "every play," 'cause ain't really nuthin' OK on that video.
I see lots of throws not just short of the sticks, but short of the frickin' line of scrimmage. And all this against defenders who will be working other jobs in three weeks. Looks like 2023 may have been telling us more about Wilson's game than anyone thought.
The total lack of pocket presence is startling. I've seen high-school QBs use the pocket and maneuver around to avoid defenders better than what I saw on this video.
I'd be willing to bet the Broncos' offensive line will suddenly "improve" this season, and the Stealers' will fall off a cliff. Wilson just has the worst luck, since everywhere he goes, by some crazy coincidence, the team's OL suddenly gets much worse just as Wilson is arriving.
Around 1:13, on what ends up being Wilson's least-bad completion, he actually gets some time and could set his feet and make a good throw to hit the open guy with a chance to keep running, but instead he pitterpats his feet like somebody who has lost the rhythm while dancing and is trying to get back on the beat, and then makes a weak throw that the receiver has to bend down and reach to get. Folks, that was his best in this game. Yikes!
The... uh... "good" news is that Wilson says he'll be playing in the Title Stealers' final preseason game, so there will be more "highlights" to watch.
Wilson looks more washed than a clean-freak physician's hands.

It's still amazes me how this guy went from a first ballot Hall of Famer and one of the most beloved players in Seahawks history to such a crappy QB with definitely no HOF guarantees and so egotistical. It's like the worse he got on the field, the more he had to compensate with the cringe off the field stuff.

Those plays don't quite look like quarter-billion-dollar contract material to me. More like risk-of-being-cut material.
(And yes, I realize it's RW's former team who is on the hook for much of that contract.)

I would pay real money to have a beer with John Schneider and just listen to him talk about Mark Rodgers. And by talk about, I mean absolutely s**t all over. I read that a big part of the willingness of Seattle to trade RW away, as well as looking into moving on from him long before 2022, was the disdain John and the front office had for Rodgers.

I was at the monday night gane against the lions in 2016 and over tye course of that game and watching him play, live (seeing wrs open and him pulling the ball down, constantly abandoning the designed play so that he could improvise) i went from thinking he was a top 5 player, to wondering how we'd be able win sustainably with the absence of a coherent scheme on offense and in the passing game.
Russ wasnt ruined by Ciara. He wasnt corruoted by fame. The elements that brought him to where he is now were aleays there. They were just held in check by the team Pete built over his first few years here.
Our offense was NEVER dangerous over his first 5 years without Lynch making his claim to be considered a HOF RB. He didnt win 70% of his games without a defense that set NFL scoring records.
Russ was ALWAYS A phenomenal talent when he created on his own. Its remarkable what he was able to do given his height limitations (and his limitations in processing the field). But the 'precipitous fall' to the guy you see today wasbt as much a fall as it was a matter of the platform he stood on being pulled out from under him - the platform that held him up among the best on the back of a defense that didnt rewuire thr offense to HAVE to score 30 points a game and a running game that was without a doubt the element that opposing teams had to accoubt for above all else.
He did flourish for a period between 16 and 21 , but it was at the expense of any semblance of a sustainable offense. And absent one year, he was still supported by a top flight rushing attack.
He was at his best when he did what Justin Fields will do when he assumes the startung role - be an equal threat on the ground and in the air.
Take away the premier rush attack. Take away the permissions Pete granted him in doing what he wanted to do, and cripple his ability to escape (father time) and he is what he has been for much longer than the last 3 years.
For as thankful as i am that he was the player we was for us when we made all those remarkable memories, i think Russ by now should be the one carrying the thanks for being given the platform he was to play the game the way he could and never be made to face the reality of not being able to do all those things he couldnt.
The mud he wears for getting drunk on praise that should have been attributed to players and coaches that worked around him, but he hoarded for himself is well deserved. He was never who he (or we) thought he was.

Already a doubt for sunday with a calf injury. I feel like with us he gutted everything out until that finger injury. Wonder if he has lost his desire a bit. Broncos media hates him for a lot of off the field stuff.

I'd be more worried about week 2 if I were him. If people thought his "welcome back" to Seattle a couple years ago was harsh, imagine what the fan response will be when he has to go back to Denver.

If he doesn't start and fields plays his career might be over, at least as a starter. Massive make or break year for him. I kind off get vibes it wouldn't bother him anymore
