Our worst issue on D the last 3 years, was our terrible tackling. I didn’t notice near as many missed tackles as we have seen. So that’s a huge improvement in my book

They definitely still have work to do but for a first preseason game I have no complaints. Anything negative is just stuff to work on and that’s to be expected. The limited penalties for the first three quarters and the tackling are two happy surprises

and the inability to set an edge. Less Taylor will help with that. Healthy Nwosu and Mafe together along with MacDonald scheming should take care of that.

Third downs stood out to me.
Both offensive and defensive.

Great start to kick off a new era!

They did well for a first pre-season game. Few penalties, improved tackling over recent seasons, and some creative offensive playcalling, all without really showing anything complicated yet. Can't expect a lot more for 1st game of the pre.

They absolutely looked good as a team, while the Chargers looked like they have a lot of work to do.

I was especially pleased with the play of the D, and especially the DLine.

What was impressive was that the back ups were very well poised and kept controlling the game with few mistakes and fairly penalty free.

Would you guys ( and gals ,not to assume anyone's gender) listen to yourselves? A post game thread and everyone of you had nothing but positive vibes for this new era of football, and I have to say I agree with every one of your posts. The defense stood out to me because it's been my biggest issue with the team the last few seasons. They had too many good players to be in the bottom five of the NFL. Watching the opposing QB panic as he gets realizes he's out of time looks lovely .

Impressed

Talk about spreading the ball around in the passing game... 15 of our players had at least one target... and 10 players had at least one reception. I like it.

It was a solid start for this new coaching regime.

For me I was particularly impressed with the D.

I look forward to seeing the starters play and what I see was great chemistry between the whole DLine group.

Murphy is going to be a seriously bad dude.
