Onion rings suck. All the onion flavor is lost and replaced with oil fried breading, which is almost flavorless. I'd rather eat plain, raw onions.

Try Red Robin's onion rings. Lots of onion flavor there. Just had some last night.

Seriously, onion rings have way too much breading. That's the problem right there. I like actual onion flavor, not breading flavor.

Good onion rings aren't breaded. They're battered. But I have no doubt, much like waffles and pancakes, you refuse to understand the fundamental difference.

Well whatever that crusty stuff is on the outside. Battered, breaded, whatever. It doesn't taste very good.
