Listen at 4:08 mark:
Watch the vid Jville posted. Solid pass blocker. Not good at all at getting a body on someone at the second level.Doesn't he have oompa loompa hands?
How did he do with the reps he got last year?
Jville's posted YouTube link above addresses this very thing.Doesn't he have oompa loompa hands?
How did he do with the reps he got last year?
I think you need to go back and watch it again. The video never said he's "Not good at all at getting a body on someone at the second level". It said he's a good reach blocker but struggles at the point of attack. Not good at all at getting a body on someone at the second level.
There is a certain group of fans that double as wannabe coaches that seem to think that players don't get better. They seem to think that players peak in their senior year of college or at the combine or something and that no amount of pro coaching can help them improve their game. I don't think that way, but from the arguments on line there appear to be many that do. It's not related to football, either, it happens in other sports as well.I think you need to go back and watch it again. The video never said he's "Not good at all at getting a body on someone at the second level". It said he's a good reach blocker but struggles at the point of attack.
He was effective using a rip technique and shedding the Cardinals NT and picking up the blitzing LB to help Walker get 5 yards. It said he does use advanced techniques like slingshot and he takes great angles, has good hand placement, good recovery and is a smart player. So clearly he is already good at some things in run blocking.
One of the two plays shown where he struggled at the point of attack was against Dexter Lawrence. So no shame there, especially as a rookie. It also said he's going to get better with more strength, more snaps and getting coached up by Huff.
The other part that you don't mention that was talked about a lot in the video was how good he already is at pass pro.
Oluwatimi should prove a solid upgrade over Brown.
Why they have virtual redshirt years when they come in the league, get some time playing and see how they match up with seasoned players and experience what they need to work on, strength, that can be added, weight can be added, speed sometimes, quickness and be worked on. One thing you can't fix is brains, some guys get it and others never will.Given Nick Harris ties to the O line coach and scheme are we 100% sure on this?
From what i've read on Oluwatimi his weakness is potentially lack of strength. Not sure if that is coachable. We'll see.
How is strength not coachable by an NFL strength and conditioning coach? From what i've read on Oluwatimi his weakness is potentially lack of strength. Not sure if that is coachable.
You're so cold , you once called in a bomb threat to the Special Olympics..He was drafted to be the eventual starter and I think he'll do a damn good job
I'm sure it is, but i'm guessing it caps out eventually depending on body typeHow is strength not coachable by an NFL strength and conditioning coach?
Clearly there's a point in a player's career where they don't get significantly stronger. I would guess that for a lot of players the biggest increases come after their rookie seasons when they have a clear comparison on where they are. I suspect Oluwatimi makes some significant strides this offseason.I'm sure it is, but i'm guessing it caps out eventually depending on body type

Can't wait for training camp.
That isn't the video I thought it was. I did mention he is good at pass pro. And he just isn't good at climbing and getting a body on a guy.I think you need to go back and watch it again.
