When a team signed a UDFA receiver, the GM/HC will pad on each other's back if that WR makes the team, raise a glass if that player contributes in some ways, pop champagne when that WR plays like Angry of 10 years ago, or Bobo of today.

I've been watching the NFL for over 50 years and I can't recall ever seeing any receiver as good at blocking as Bobo.

I also don't remember seeing him not catch any ball remotely in his area. Somehow, he also gets open A LOT!

Bobo is the complete package. If he continues to play at this level we'll have a steal for 4 years before he makes the HUGE $$$.

Two obstacles in his way to stardom: DCs will game plan against him; and; our loaded WR corp.,

There were people who had him graded as high as Round 4. And he knows what Pete looks for in a WR that stays on the field - blocking. He's putting in the hours and getting the little things done.

Q. It's one thing for Lockett to do that, but Bobo at 6'4", 200-plus?

COACH CARROLL: Jake's got all that stuff in him. He's already shown -- we've already seen. He's got the great knack and the sense and awareness and spatial awareness. There's no catch that he can't make. There's nothing he can't do with catching the ball and using his body in that fashion. That's in a short time, six months of watching the guy, I totally trust him.

Q. Looks like he's helping you out as a blocker with the run game?

COACH CARROLL: He continues to, yeah. He's been doing it well. Just continues to make him more valuable for us in so many ways.

That is what you do if you are a UDFA trying to make the team loaded with big name WRs, basically do everything to give yourself a chance, there's no entitlement mentality here.

My adopt-a-rookie is making it very easy for me to stick with him through thick and thin. Absolutely great hands, gets open, a fierce blocker. If he was a tad faster and two years younger he'd have been a first round draft pick. He still should have been, but now we get him as an UDFA 💪
