Good job. Great point you made there.
He’s nothing now he lost his escapability. I thank him for his part in getting us to back to back Super Bowls and his part on getting a Lombardi trophy in the trophy case, but he’s Denver’s headache now.I'm beyond glad this guy is gone. He's good for an occasional moon ball, but he's not a franchise quarterback anymore.
At the end of the day, he's going to get you about what Derek Carr would... just, you know, for infinitely more money and resources.
At this point in the game, Mims had 2 catches for 113 of those yards. Two moon balls do not make a good QB.Wilson is looking really good. 2 big bombs. Also has 2Td. 5/6 145yrds.
I like to speculate that Wilson's confidence is very low, and his football iq/processor were never good. He’s nothing now he lost his escapability. You bitter that he made you his bitch?
when we had problem scoring in the 3rd, 12s narrowed it down to Pete's failure to make halftime adjustments. Broncos are having the same problem despite having a offensive genius as HC.It is too early to say but you have to dig deeper than looking at rankings as football is a team game.
In the first game the Broncos defense surrendered 10 points against the Raiders in the first half. Broncos dating to last season had no problem putting up points in the first half of games. Against the Raiders they put up 13 points in the first half. But like last season the Broncos scored 0 points in the third quarter of the game against the Raiders and only 3 points in the 4th quarter. The Broncos defense held the Raiders to 17 total points in the game.
In the second game the Broncos defense held the Commanders to 14 points in the first half. The Broncos had 21 points in the first half but the wheels fell off for the Broncos in the second half. The Broncos put up only 3 points in the third quarter while the Commanders only scored 7. So the Broncos still had a lead but it was narrowed. But then the Broncos defense collapsed in the 4th quarter and the Broncos offense couldn't make up ground.
Time of possession in favor of Commanders: 33:45 to Broncos 26:15.
Broncos defense just was worn out by the 4th quarter. IMO
Those guys are still kinda new with possible upside. They also dont speak as if they are already great and bring alot of outside nonsense to the team. They dont go around preaching how great they are going to be after a loss. I would 100% still rather have them as a qb vs Russell. Russell may not be the main problem but I have a feeling Sean Payton is looking to get rid of him so he can work with a QB that fits his style and is an actual leader vs a fake wanna be leader. Drew Brees's pregame huddle were actually very inspirational. I don't think Russell could ever pull off that kind of motivational huddle.Meanwhile Wilson is out playing Burrow and Herbert who are also 0-2. Who just sign bigger contract than Wilson.
Wilson has the same amount TD(3rd best) then those two combine. Higher passer rating(4th highest). Higher completion percentage. Has more yards rushing. Broncos has a combine loss of just 3 points.
Wilson definitely has slow down. Majority of the sacks, he would have gain some yards in the past. Second half was really bad for him. Once the line couldn't protect him, he started to get happy feet. It was odd that Perine only got 1 carry. You have such a high lead you would think you would run more or do those check down passes like last week. The run game has not been strong at all or hasn't been utilize yet.
Sean Payton needs to be criticize too. Going for the onside kick and chose his former kicker over McManus cost them the game last week.
Offensively Broncos Passing are ranked pretty good in quite a few categories
3rd in TDs, 9th in Turnovers, 10th First downs, 12th in Yards, 3rd in Net yards per drive and 5th in points per drive.
Defensively they have been bad
23rd points allowed, 24th force turnovers, 27th in giving up first downs, 21st passing yards, 24th in TD passes, 30th in time of possession
Denver is also leading the league in penalties.
Wilson is not the main problem Denver has lost the two games. The Denver defense is surprisingly bad.
And this is the problem with stats, isnt it?Meanwhile Wilson is out playing Burrow and Herbert who are also 0-2. Who just sign bigger contract than Wilson.

And Denver is 4th worst in punts per offensive snap and 5th worst in punts per score. They were also 23rd in 3rd down conversion last week. And they gave up TOP by 8 minutes.Meanwhile Wilson is out playing Burrow and Herbert who are also 0-2. Who just sign bigger contract than Wilson.

Like when he was here, defenses give Russ a simple read to make and sit back daring him to challenge them with anything else. He checked down the entire game week one. Some of this was because i think Payton wants to get him used to not just bombing everything. But Russ doesnt have the nuance handle of the game to be able to move deftly between passing strategies. He plays one way. he's not a master tactician at the spot. Hes creative, but his creativity is known and save for when teams get beat deep... he's solved. Not sure what to make of Wilson's play this year. He's looked better, but the results are the same. The two games were very different. Against the Raiders, he only threw for 177 yards, but completed 27 out of 34, which is almost 80 percent. Against the Commanders, he threw for 308 yards but only completed 18 or 32, which isn't very good (56%). As someone pointed out, if you take out the hail mary and the 60 yarder, it was about the same number of yards as last week.
Things could improve, but if they don't, it's looking like last year wasn't an aberration.
Yes, week one, it was like he was trying to prove to Payton that he could diagnose the defense by checking it down. I'm sure that the film review showed that many of the checkdowns were mistakes, so he came back in week two, and started bombing again.Like when he was here, defenses give Russ a simple read to make and sit back daring him to challenge them with anything else. Quarterback: Russell Wilson
Grade: 48.7
The timing and placement from Wilson on throws under 10 yards continue to leave yards on the field. The worst came on a third down that he completed for seven yards when they needed nine. His pass was late and behind the receiver, who ran a route that needed precise timing from the quarterback. Both of his turnovers were terrible plays by him, but he had some great passes, including both deep shots to Mims that were practically perfect
The Washington Commanders were baiting him to escape left and spying on him with their weakside linebacker, who forced the fumble. Missed facemask or not, Wilson tries to outrace the defender instead of throwing it away and accepting the 3rd-and-15. Even if he didn't fumble, it was a loss of yards. His interception seemed to be him not knowing the play and throwing to the wrong spot on his first target to Sutton.
Wilson being Wilson?Yes, week one, it was like he was trying to prove to Payton that he could diagnose the defense by checking it down. I'm sure that the film review showed that many of the checkdowns were mistakes, so he came back in week two, and started bombing again.
Wow, there's actally no "un" in front of that word! Could it really be?I remember after Russ was drafted, Charlie Casserly said something to the effect that Russell was a limited quarterback. Many of us took umbrage with that comment. I don’t think much of Mr. Casserly, but in retrospect I’m wondering if he actually was right.
