Here's to hoping it's a quick turnaround like Tyler had

Our first two picks anyway hahaUgh
almost all the rookies from this draft class have been injured lol![]()
He WAS the number 1 receiver in the draft, taken first even with his injury history. But it was an injured hamstring that kept him out of the season which has absolute 0 relation to this injury so what relevance does it have? Injury history has a relevance and risk when it's persistent injuries to the same area of the body but that is not the case here.
Joe Burrow missed half his rookie season with a season ending injury and has been injured during every offseason since - but do you think the Bengals would pass on him with their number 1 pick if given a do-over?
I'll be worried if/when he starts missing practices consistently with hamstring strains (the plague of the Seahawks injury report), but until then, no concerns
Do you or does anyone else know whether Mr Witherspoon had previous hamstring injury issues? Kind of like a fast CB Seattle drafted years ago that always had hamstring issues.."Surgery" could mean a lot of things. News tends to dramatize everything, such as "Broken back," and "Broken leg.'
I've heard people say, "I had a broken back." Paralyzed people in a wheelchair don't appreciate that kind of hyperbole. Just because you crack a vertebrae, doesn't mean you have a broken back. After 8 back/neck surgeries, and countlless hardware, I would never say I had a broken back, just deterioration.
"He played with a broken leg." Tell that to Tyler Lockett, or T.O.
Surgery means they cut open some skin, likely cleaned out a piece of bone, or inserted a screw. If Schefter says he might be available week 1, I wouldn't consider that a "surgery" per se. More like a procedure.
And Spoon's hamstring, I put that on him for holding out. Never fails. Someone holds out, misses the beginning of training camp, then tries to "catch up" or "earn that paycheck," and they get injured because they haven't been going full bore like the other 89 players out there on the field.
Yeah, JSN is the most exciting first round draft pick for me since the Okung/Earl Thomas picks. I kind of put those two together because I remember being equally excited about getting a LT and a DB of Thomas's and Okung's caliber to kick off the PC/JS era. I would have felt the same if we had gotten Will Anderson and JSN together in the first round this year. This is not to shade Witherspoon at all. I'm high on him. I just felt stronger about the Okung/Thomas tandem at the time.No one's talking about do-overs, IMO JSN is one of the most exciting rookies we've ever drafted. He should be an absolute stud.
But yeah, this injury certainly is pause for concern when you take into account his prior history.
He missed almost his entire senior year at OSU, and was widely considered the #1 receiver in the draft. His injury history was THE reason he dropped to #20. That's all I'm saying.
It's a concern, because with NFL players, past injury history is a risk, and can be a predictor of future injury issues.
This time with the R Wilson trade , we got our players over a (2) draft span.Yeah, JSN is the most exciting first round draft pick for me since the Okung/Earl Thomas picks. Which means week 3 to me. LOL PC has always been a bit patient about bringing players back from injury, if my memory serves me right.Bummer. Heard he still has a chance to play week 1
Surgery to repair a broken bone, really not sure how he could be ready for the season opener with a repair broken bone?

Jaxon Smith-Njigba’s big play came with a potentially big injury
Smith-Njigba’s timetable for recovery is unknown at this point.www.fieldgulls.com
Hand surgeries are really delicate, small bones, lots of it, along with other stuff. There must be renowned hand surgeon in Philly, UPenn perhaps?Depends on the location of the bone. If it's one of the smaller of the 3 bones at the top of the radius and ulna that make up the carpal group, the recovery could be fast. If it's one of the other bones toward the fingers, could be longer. Reason being those bones are more impacted by the function of the hand.
