I am so thrilled the Seahawks finally get to rock their retros this year. Many of us have waited a long time. Fittingly, NFL Network played the classic 1991 game last night between the Hawks and Chiefs were the legendary Derrick Thomas had 7 sacks in the game, yet still lost due to the epic TD pass from Krieg to Skansi to pull victory out from defeat.

Watching the broadcast in -4K (ha) it’s fuzzy but I love the helmets were the Hawk logo was kinda separated in the back. Here’s a shot. Some players had the logo close in the back but I dig the ones like this where they were separated more.

Definitely excited to see these in action again. Any guesses as to which game we introduce them?

I'm guessing it's Against Dallas. I think they will want a national audience for marketing and I don't see a bigger national audience than the Cowboy TNF game.

That Thanksgiving game just might be it. I was looking around and I read that the Cowboys plan to wear theirs on Thanksgiving, and I doubt they wear them in back to back weeks. Might even be a Thanksgiving day theme and might explain why we are playing at Thanksgiving this year.

If they want to get it out sooner to another national audience game, they could choose the Giants MNF game.

Have they said whether the unis will be a true retro or more of an homage?

Obviously the materials will be updated, but will they be true to colour & graphics?

Would you want them up against the team that the design was accused of aping when they came out?

I suppose if you go sleeve hawk not as big an issue, but the true OGs do lend themselves to the argument.

I don't think anyone under the age of 60 knows this, or cares. Or both.

I believe (no inside info, just a hunch) they will look just like the 1990's era uniforms. The only difference of course will be the modern helmet design and general nuances you would find in a modern uniform. But the colors and design will likely look identical to the 1990's uni's.

I like that idea. I want the old unis to be worn in games where the other team is wearing something close to what they wore back when we played in them, and the Cowboys would work for that purpose.
