I like Goodwin, but he seems pretty easily replaceable, especially at 32.

On the other hand, Seattle's 2013 team had quite a few free agents.

Bennett, Avril, McDaniel and McDonald all came from the free agency. Most of our D-Line was comprised of free agents. On offense we also had Zach Miller which was another huge free agent signing.

McDonald came in a trade. Bennett and Avril type of signings will never happen again.

Morgulon, you and couch logic seem to be mistaking this forum for the Smack Shack. Take that crap there if that's where your mind is, but keep it off this board.
My apologies. Trying to be funny . Didn't mean to get couch logic in this , not his fault.

Interior Defensive Line. These kinds of rookies generally take a couple of years to acclimate to the NFL, so going the FA route makes sense if we want to make the team better next year. I was thinking Greg Gaines from the Rams and Dalvin Tomlinson from the Vikings. Gains would be our NT (Woods could be on a reduced snap count as his backup) and Tomlinson would be another starter. These two would be big bodies to free up the linebackers to make plays. They are the kind of two-gappers that we lacked this past year.

Paging Mr. Nwosu. 😁
Good call. Dude played lights out this year, and will only be better next year when this defense has the talent it needs to fill the front line.

Seahawks' Uchenna Nwosu: Enjoys breakout season in Seattle Rotowire Jan 20, 2023

Nwosu posted 67 tackles (42 solo), 9.5 sacks, four pass breakups, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries across 17 regular-season games in 2022.

Nwosu totaled 9.5 sacks over the previous two seasons with the Chargers, but he broke out in Seattle's system while averaging a career-high 51 defensive snaps per game. The 2018 second-round pick just turned 26 years old, so he may not have hit his peak yet. Nwosu has only one year left on his contract in Seattle, so he'll be a candidate for an extension this offseason.

Uchenna Nwosu signed a 2 year, $19,055,000 contract with the Seattle Seahawks, including a $9,500,000 signing bonus, $10,535,000 guaranteed

Free agency was extremely suppressed that season. A lot of dudes hung around. It is not likely to happen now because pass rushers just don't hang around. Michael Bennett came off of a 9 sack season and couldn't get a good offer. Cliff Avril had seasons of 8.5, 11, 9.5 before he signed with the Seahawks.

It was good fortune and some skills to identify those players. Especially Bennett because he was still somewhat unproven.
