Yup that was exactly my point in the thread about the Hawks have to lose 9 straight to make the "experts" right.

What do you expect from the journalists and media today. They are all lazy, want click bait, and don't do any hard analysis of what they write about.

Pretty sure it was the draft class of 2011 or 2012 they gave an F.

That is probably the nicest thing Pete Prick-so has ever said about the Seahawks
Prick-so is a die in Woods Cardinals fan and hates PC and Seattle.

I think he got some bad food there once or something because he will go out of his way to say bad things or not pick the Hawks.

It kills him to have to take them in the picks or give them a high power ranking.

Is anyone really surprised? Journalism has transitioned to entertainment. Sports, business, news. It doesn't matter what kind of journalism it is.

Investigation is expensive. Opinion is cheap. Confirmation bias is profitable.

C'mon man. Who hasn't figured this out yet?

I believe the phrase you were going for is dyed in the wool, no? 🤔

Although, if the prick died in the woods you won't see me crying. 😏

100% facts. There are great investigative journalists out there, but almost none of them are mainstream or on major networks.

To be fair, Tyreke Smith is on IR and Bo Melton can't even make it off the practice squad.

Too funny - media. I just about spit out my coffee on the Fox pregame this past week. Jimmy J 'picked' us against the Giants at 3 points.

It was the straight fing line. Jesus - research a little bit!

I just thought it was amusing. Big production values - I can 'call'/'pick' games by just reading the news and quoting the existing line.

Not that I hate Jimmy J or anything. Just felt very 'phoning it in'.

Yea, unfortunately. What if society had a battle with social media and we lost?

Didn't they shred our 2011 draft too? Wasn't that class given a D or F by some major pundit?

This will look even better if Woolen gets DROY. And I know people have been oohing and aahing over Walker as a possible OROY, but what about Cross or Lucas? Those guys have not been dominant, but really solid at positions that are hard to fill.

I remember seeing many draft grades at the time and thinking they were low, and now, in retrospect, even what I thought we should have been graded was too low. I just didn't understand at the time, how anyone could see even just Cross and Walker and grade us less than a B. Those two alone make for a solid draft. Once you start adding in the other pieces, I felt we had a pretty good draft this year. Now, I wonder if this might be one of our best draft classes. It's definitely competing with being one of our best.

ALL experts followed, heck still following, the current NFL team building protocol or golden gospel of starting with a franchise QB, then build the team around him. For whatever reason, every single one of them either are true believers of that principle, or were told to parrot that idea, but they all said the same. Anyone that do not follow the golden gospel of team building must be talked down, belittled, and verbally destroyed.

Pete and John VIOLATED that golden gospel by first trading away a franchise QB at "his prime", a "sure fire first ballot HOF". Then Pete and John had the audacity of not signing or drafting a replacement, and as if that is not enough, Pete and John drafted a running back, a RB in second round when there were QBs to be had?

Pete and John clearly trespassed on the golden gospel, therefore, all experts fired at will.

I'm with you that there a few news agencies actually sending reporters places and interviewing and researching. It's scary on the national level and even scarier on the state/local level. Mostly it's just increasingly websites generating opinions off the work of the few actual sources and 24 hour cable "news" networks that don't do real work.

Sports journalism has always been about entertainment. I don't really think there's been a degredation of something important here; it's essentially always just been based off something that is of no real consequence. It's more ridiculous now because of how easy it is to generate and distribute content, but this really has little to do with news agencies reporting on things that actually matter. A lot of people just like to argue as loud as possible about this stuff in person. They seem to enjoy having the same silly crap thrown at them on the internet and TV.
