Falcons have won 3 of their last 4 and that loss was on that horrendous roughing call on Brady. All of their games have been 1 score games, too. I think they might be better than people give them credit for this year.

Bet SF is wishing they had signed Mariota instead of Jimmy G. He would have been far cheaper.

They were competitive last year with a roster that lacked talent. They did upgrade the talent of their roster this year but not by much. The Falcons are a very technically sound team on both sides of the ball right now. Which makes the Falcons a dangerous team as the young players become more confident and start to emerge for them.

I'm not a 49er fan, but playing without Bosa and Amstead, is a big big difference on the field.

Also Jimmy doesn't do well on the road I guess. He's a game managing QB. As long as the D plays well, he will do well.

Injury bug hit both their O and D lines. I watched the game, lots of significant yard gaining passes dropped, hard to Blame the QB for the loss.

Was gonna say.

A loss is a loss so no excuses, but there is context.

They started the game with 3/4ths of thier D-Line out and Ebukam was in and out of the lineup all day.

They Lost their best CB this year in Charvarious Ward at halftime so were down 3/4 of their secondary.

Falcons just ran the ball all day long and Niners couldn't stop it. They wore down. I mean at one point they had their Nickel CBs (Lenoir and Womack) as their starting corners.

On offense they were moving the ball through the air, but they were just WAY too many mistakes. If you look at Jimmy stat line and you'd think he played poorly but he didn't. One INT was essentially a Hail Mary at the end of the half and the other was a tip on what might have been (and was initially called before they picked it up) a PI. He also had a deep pass to McCloud that was flat dropped, a deep throw to Woener that was again dropped, and a deepish pass to Aiyuk that was complete but called back on bogus holding call.

In the end tho their injuries and mistakes just killed them.

The 49ers entered the game down 6 defensive starters and lost another one during the game. For long stretches yesterday they were down both starting tackles on offense.

Unfortunately, this is a hallmark of the Shanahan era. ALWAYS injured. They have changed up their training staff but it seems to make no difference. Year after year one of the most injured teams in the NFL.

Its now likely they'll be down their top 2 CBs vs Pat Mahomes and the Chiefs. I see 3-4 in the near future.

I'm not talking about the Hawks. This thread is about SANTA CLARA. A contender who shouldn't lose by 2 touchdowns. Period.
And I love it, so much.

How does that score correlate? If you want to talk hawks you mean the 27-23 loss to Atlanta?
The point was every team has their bad days. Hawks at full strength with a few exceptions lost by 20, not just lost but scored 0 on offense. Rams lost most of their O-line, look at how it has affected them. Just think some of the homerism here is hilarious.
