You are not alone. Most of us did not see Geno performing at this level. You can't argue with stats. He's been outstanding. Outperforming most QBs in the league to this point. Sure he could and likely will level or cool off but I am truly happy for him and for us that he is clearly in command of this offense. Obviously Pete wasn't blowing smoke. He's everything Pete said he was. I would take Geno over Russ right now and it's not even close and think about that statement.

Let Geno Cook!
I did. Lol

Geno has been good, but against bad defenses.

Need to see it against better defenses first.

New Orleans next week will be a great test.

We compare because Russ was a douche leaving town
We compare because it further demonstrates how badly we fleeced Denver and thats relevant
We compare because the worse Russ does, the higher pick we get in the next draft
We compare because giving Russ and the Russ lovers in this forum the finger is fun :)
I feel the same way on 3 of your points, but I don't blame RW for wanting to move on after 10 years. Yes, he was guarded in what he said/hinted, just as Pete was and is.

RW and Pete are often not straight shooter.

I think it was a very, very, bad move for Denver to sign him on an extension worth $243-5 Mill at his age when he started losing his wheels about 3 years ago.

I'm rooting for the Broncos to lose as much as possible also, and with Williams out for the year, I don't see them doing well....I'm thinking .500 or less. I'm thinking less than .500. Hopefully less.

He took veiled shots at his teammates and the organization on multiple occasions

Thats not just being guarded

Wanting to move on was fine. Running his mouth in a passive aggressive way was not

So let's say that any success Geno is having this year is the system and people around him. Imagine then the improvement if we draft a star or upgrade the position next year.

Some of us speculated that Russ never wanted to be out of the lineup when he was dinged because he feared something like this could happen. With nothing to compare Team Russ had to be on top of the pedestal. Cat’s out of the bag. This team is better for moving on.

New Orleans next week will be a great test.
Geno has already faced two top 10 defenses (and Denver could be considered top 5), including the number one defense in the league. He was already Top 5 rated by PFF going INTO the game against the Lions with two thirds of his games against good defenses.

Why do we keep seeing people say Geno needs to be tested or play good defenses?

New Orleans is a good defense but they are worse than both Denver and SF in that regard. Geno's faced better defenses already... the Saints haven't faced better offenses.

How many points did Geno and the offense score against the 9ers again? Remind us.

He scored just as many touchdowns as the Los Angeles Rams did. He still completed 80% of his passes and only made two bad throws.

I didn't say he played great against the Niners but Geno didn't actually play bad our offense just wasn't effective (and we made some stupid decisions in play calling that didn't help).

And you still aren't in any way refuting my point. My point was that the idea Geno needs to play against a 'good defense' makes no sense. He's already played two, including the BEST defense.

What I failed to understand is why some 12s generated their happiness by focusing on Geno's bad plays. In any given game, even the GOAT Brady will have a few bad plays that he wanted back, why should Geno be different.

I think it's pretty simple. People who put all their chips in don't tend to like being wrong so they would rather put up their car, house or kid to prove how smart they are.

When someone has no room in their constructed reality to being mistaken then anything that doesn't fit their construction is simply disregarded.

These are the people who will discount any and all success, even if the ultimate success were reached.
