We may be way better than all of us think.

The win was awesome, but we also saw lots of room for improvements. You know what? for a team with bunch of rookies, playing a new defense system and new OL scheme. We are good, if we can work on those area that needed improvements, we can be the surprise team of the season.

I predicted months ago, after Wilson trade for a 10 W season, heck, we just might get there.

I think this D is suspect and if Adams is gone possibly a bottom 10 D.

This is not a 3 win team like many Pete haters were predicting/hoping

They could certainly surprise and compete a bit. The west suddenly looks a bit less formidable

Too early to tell because a lot of offense around the NFL are rusty. But what I am seeing is that Hawks defense is actually looking more aggressive this year. That is promising IMO. Any time you have rookie CBs playing a lot of snaps they are going to make mistakes. But what I was surprised to see was the front seven going downhill for a change.

I’m ecstatic simply from the fact that we are in a situation where PC is almost force to give all the young guys a shot to play that he has been conservative on in the past. I will all of the learning moments from the newbies happily.

If we manage a winning record this year I would be beyond impressed. I appreciate the week 1 win, but we got a lot more football ahead of us. Once teams have some tape on Geno, what is the story looking like then?

Loved that for game one there really were not many procedure penalties. Their first punt was in the 4th quarter. Still not sure on defense. Very much bend but don’t break as usual. Happy for Geno.

The rules and officiating mandates in the NFL make it difficult for any team to be stone wall. Most defenses in the NFL are bend but don't break. Our defense is very young and will only improve barring injuries. I love the aggressive style Our DC called. Very refreshing.

i was one in the 3-4 wins category. ill bump that to 5-6. i think alot of the effort is because this team and Pete wanted revenge and were hyped up to beat Russ. Plus a monday night game always brings the juice. Geno played out of his mind for a half and i dont think that will be consistent by any means. this game might be there ceiling, which was only a 1 point win, which could have very easily been lost, and that was to a borderline playoff team. so what do you think their base is then?

If only....we could enjoy the win and bask in how glorious it feels for at least 24 hours before resuming banging on the drum of a bleak reality, negativity, and no hope.

Too much talent on both sides of the ball for them to stink it up IMO. It would take some catastrophic injuries to pile on or a losing streak to really sink the season.

Time will tell as it is only one game and 16 more games to go.

This game was the focus for all of training camp and the entire team and fans were all revved up to 11 for it. You can’t overreact to a week 1 game, good or bad. It was very promising, much better than I expected especially with all the rookies getting significant time, but it was only one emotional home game. Need to see another game or two, see how well they handle the emotional hangover and play better teams. I went With 4-6 wins and would love to increase that number but I’m not ready to also judge the rest of the division after one game either. It was very, very promising though.

More then SOME of us think. The floor for this team is 7. Ceiling? Playoffs
I've been with you on Smith, because I've actually read what you and @Maelstrom787 have written. Neither of you thinks Smith is great or a long-term solution, but you looked at his actual performance as a starter and said there was reason to believe he might be adequate. Wilson fans have tried to twist your position into "Geno Smith is great," but my reading comprehension is too good for me to fall for that BS.

I have to say I'm not with you on seven wins as a floor for the 2022 Seahawks, though. I wouldn't be shocked if they won seven games, but I don't see that as the floor.

I agree. I have been saying that about both the Seahawks and Bears — my two teams. They are on similar rebuilding tracks. They both had excellent drafts with rookies who are having impact. Both are poised to make noise in free agency and draft in 2023. Until then, we’re gonna lose some games but not laying down for anybody!

Nice to see a few delay of game penalties still on Russell’s team. Glad that changed for Seattle.
