4-5. I’m happy to watch the rookies develop.
5-7 wins max
I fully expect you to take Pete Carroll to task on here, if the team falls well short of that mark. /sIt's all about staying healthy and getting solid play from the qb.
Our depth is our weakness, and will be amplified early on if we have starters go down.
From a morale perspective, energy, enthusiasm and the very strong, and very clear message from Jody, whether being in the war room in the draft, or firing shots directly and publicly at Russ for his dishonesty in leaving, that the gauntlet has been thrown down. The players are hungry to prove what this team is. I think the hallmarks that made our team great in the past, we have in spades again. Commitment to one another, unit to unit, within the offense, within the defense, and between offense and defense. That hasn't been a thing since 2013.
I think the struggles in preseason are a bit overblown, both because of the number of bench guys that have had to play in a new system, and that the team isn't running a ton of their 'real' stuff. Al Woods said that pretty directly in his presser when asked what he thought was behind the defense's struggles - that they werent showing a ton.
The team can either struggle early and claw its way to stability by seasons end, or... catch lightening in a bottle with some early wins that build confidence and have them playing above their pads.

Dishonesty about leaving? As soon as Jody chose the fossil over the needs for the franchise QB, it was pretty evident he was leaving. He had to. The team was never going to go anywhere as long as Carroll was still around.
The hunger and commitment you speak of will evaporate as the losses start piling up. Always does.
The struggles in preseason are a precursor for the regular season. The teams Seattle played werent fielding their best players and running their 'real stuff' either.
7 wins is their ceiling, not floor.
Wow. Rellllaaaaaaxxxxx, Pitt.
It's just my opinion.
Jody chose the franchise over the player. Obviously a move John wanted to make before as well.
Pete got on board and finally cut bait with 'coach's son' . And when Russ went on national TV saying he had no idea he was being traded... that it was 'news'... so that he could play the ' I always wanted to stay in Seattle role...'
Ownership said this:
While Russell made it clear he wanted this change, he made Seattle proud and we are grateful for his decade of leadership on and off the field," Allen said in a statement. "We look forward to welcoming our new players and to everyone being fully engaged while working our hardest to win every single day.16 Mar 2022
Emphasis on the fact that he wanted the trade (Russ maintained the opposite) . And the franchise is looking forward to everyone being engaged...
She included those two specific points for a reason... well besides the fact that she's the boss and was tired of the obvious clown show that had played out the prior 2 seasons.
Russ was dishonest and wasn't on board. And that goes back to 2020... probably even 2019.
So now, voila... surprise, Russ gets moved and morale is higher than its been in years and everybody is engaged.
In my opinion, that has been the ingredient that has been sorely lacking since the keys to the car were handed to #3.
You think they're lost without leadership. I think leadership made the tough choice, but the right one and we will be better for it in the long run for certain. And if we can catch some breaks, will surprise this year.
Just try not to be too angry about it if we do.
She said he wanted this change. Well thats true. After finally realizing they were never going to get rid of Carroll, he wanted out. I would too. Jody signed Pete to his ridiculous 5 year extension and thats when Russ went public about needing help on the Oline. Carroll half assed the concern as usual and Wilson finally had enough. Its no mystery. He would have loved finishing his career in Seattle, but knew it was futile trying to move forward with Pete Carroll. He is in a better spot now while Seattle is once again the laughing stock of the league.
Where is this morale you keep speaking of? Maybe with the rookies, but the veterans realize they are going to stink. It will only get worse as the losing persists.
Leadership screwed the pooch with Carrolls extension. Jody was fine with it because she doesnt have to get involved now. She just hands the reigns over to Pete and lets him babysit everything. She'll realize her error when Seattle is still struggling to be a .500 or below team 3 years from now.
Interestingly, Allen was not a vocal or an actively engaged owner, but here she broke her silence and made a STRONG statement. She wasn't going to allow Russell Wilson lie into being the victim, I would speculate that to guys in the locker room, she became the owner after that statement.Wow. Rellllaaaaaaxxxxx, Pitt.

LOL... Ok then.So maybe the vets who are also talking about how good the energy is and how together everyone feels now vs years past... and how they want to send a message to doubters who think they're terrible.
Maybe it's a show for the camera and what they really think is the Geno is terrible, PC should have been canned and Russ kept, and that we actually have no hope.
I mean, I guess it's possible.
LOL... Ok then.
I thought you were being sarcastic. LOLQuestion them. They're the ones on camera in camp saying it.
