A hernia usually occurs in the weakened abdominal wall where the left and right testes come through ("drop") when you're a baby.

I had my left tear when I was 16, and my right tear when I was 17. Both were repaired at Bassett Army Hospital. IIRC, they pull the wall together and scrape it to turn it in to scar tissue. After the first one, I went home a laid around for a week, then took it really easy. After the 2nd one, my buddies picked me up the same day at the hospital and we went out and partied all (Friday) night.

The repairs have bothered me over the years, but they are tough as hell. 20 years of guiding, packing dead animals up and down mountainsides, and they're still intact.

These days they put mesh in, and I guess it's pretty bullet proof.

No. A hernia is the weakening of the abdominal wall and can cause internal organs to protrude through the tear. Mine is to the left of my belly button but since you mentioned it, my “nutsack” isn’t torn but the left side of it is extremely bruised. The wife and I have gotten good laughs as it looks like I have one black one and one white one.

And Pete said at 135 pm that it wasn't a sports hernia, and that KWIII was having a 'procedure'.
So I'll guess KWIII had keyhole surgury and will be back to work, at least running, in a couple of weeks.

Our other two RBs looked great on sat, a lot better than walker. Our new o-line looked great too. I'd say with Penny, I'd be far more concerned if one of the linemen was injured.

Just curious, but does anyone have any information or knowledge about which positions are more subject to sports hernias? I know that they're caused by quick, sudden movements like the sharp, jump cuts that are common with running backs and it would seem like RB's experience them more than other positions, but I can't find anything to confirm that assumption.

Small sidenote, but Carson gave his all for this team. He was overused, and took a ridiculous amount of punishment. Much of that is on him. But Carson was a 6th or 7th round draft pick that you could make an argument was worth a 1st or 2nd in a redraft. He was ANYTHING but a 'curse'. For one, he fixed the issues with short yardage conversions we had. He was money on short yardage, even when the defense knew he was coming or the offensive line was 'blocking' for him.

Walker should be fine. We lose him for a few weeks. that might be a good thing.
