Your kind find grievance and problems everywhere. The location is just a backdrop for their anger. Might as well be a green screen.

I know that most NFL qb’s don’t suddenly see the light with a few exceptions. But it has happened.

What you didn’t offer is what Denver was lacking that Seattle has.

In a worst case scenario Lock looks just good enough to get the Seahawks to pass on a young QB in the next draft.

But I’m not sold on the guy at all. How many Denver games have you watched? I’ve only seen Locks few highlights on YouTube.
What does your kind mean? Are you being racist? What grievances and problems am I supposed to be finding? I do not believe in absolutes (period). You don't know anything about me so not sure where you are coming from thinking I have anger issues? Weird take, maybe it's because I mentioned liberals, if so you should try to find more peace in your beliefs and not go straight to attacks of something you know nothing about. I have seen some amazing things in my life. Which has been an awesome blessed life. I am not a better fan then the next guy. But just like the next guy I have an opinion and I choose to be more optimistic then going down the constant negative (absolute) road. If that bothers you cupcake lo siento. Trying to pigeon hole me into your cookie cutter outlook will not get you anywhere.

I am not talking about Denver so why talk about what they are lacking? Again weird take when I was talking how we don't know how any of this is going to turn out. Does that make me angry? In a best case scenario Waldron uses Lock to his strengths and he matures with confidence and becomes a better QB then he currently is. Also I think we should get a QB next year no matter what. Since you are not sold on the guy I guess we should tank the season then?

Jeez guys. It’s a fan forum…you’re allowed to have opinions.
There’s substance in most of the comments here…just remember we’re on the same “team”. 😉

We’ll get the chance to see what’s what here soon. Perhaps we all agree that this off-season excitement and anticipation is likely at an all-time high!

I forgot to type that Bronco starting right tackle was out, in concussion protocol, after falling on his walk into Empower Stadium on the way to the dressing room.
Question for anyone(for educational purposes):
Could Ingram's game winning play have been prevented?
(for example, by Lock, if he should have known(?) that Ingraham would be unblocked...or by Gordon, who could have reacted to the impending disaster by ignoring/refusing Lock's handoff and, instead, hitting Ingram, and forcing the play to be a 'broken play'...

Okay, let's look at this.

59% complt, 25 tds, 20 ints, 79 passer

Between that and watching him, PC is doing what he does the best prevaricate

Wow you really trigger easy. Surprising for a laid back retired guy. Anyways this is a rambling mess so I’ll leave it just as it is.

Are we going with cupcake or sweetheart? Which one makes you feel more secure?

No, but it's a better indicator of future performance than being tall and having a last name that rhymes with a part of the male anatomy. I hope Lock becomes an exception, but I'm struggling to recall precedence for a QB in a similar situation to suddenly put it all together with another team. The closest I can think of is Trent Dilfer going from disaster in Tampa to something resembling competent with Baltimore and Seattle. It is really telling how enormous the Broncos apparently saw the gap between Lock and Wilson. They thought Russ was worth mortgaging their future when they had Lock on a cheap rookie deal.
History is full of QBs that did not do real great at the beginning of their careers, but found above average success. You mention Trent Dilfer. Probably the worth QB to win a SB. Dan Fouts had 5 horrible seasons before finally flourishing. Brad Johnson was a complete washout in Minnesota, but won the SB with TB and was a 2-time pro bowler. Drew Brees had 4 bad seasons in San Diego before becoming a legend in NO. Jim Plunkett was never a great QB, but has 2 SB rings. In fact, this last season we just witnessed a QB that had 12 mediocre seasons with a team only to win the SB in his first season with another team. I think it is foolish to write Lock or Geno off as not being able to get it done. Both have the talent, it is the mistakes that costs them. A good system can minimize those mistakes.

Geno has the best feet from the pocket while Lock simply is better outside of the pocket. Both have their strengths but it will be interesting to see who ends up winning the starting job.

This was vintage Pete Carroll blowing smoke up the arses of his players and fans. When you combine that he said that Lock would have been the first player taken "of quarterbacks anyway," which suggests he thinks Lock might have been a #1 overall, with the fact that Kenny Pickett was taken with the 20th selection in the first round, he's saying that Lock would have been at least a top half of the first round pick in this year's draft. Even if you ignore or rationalize Lock's performance as a Bronco, this is a huge pile of baloney to heap on a player.

Do any of you remember, like I do, Pete's post game interview after a late season, nearly meaningless win against a mediocre Eagles team in 2011 when he exclaimed that he was going to "build around Tavaris"? It's statements like these that causes me to take what Pete Carroll says about his players with a grain of salt. He's like a snake oil salesman pumping up his product, full of more chit than a Christmas goose.
What is he supposed to say?? Oh I think Lock is a piece of shit! He is trying to motivate his QB to use the skills he has and move to the next level. That is what Pete does. Never talks down his players ALWAYS talks them up. I think his point is that Lock is as good if not better than what was in this draft at QB. Time will tell if he is right or all the naysayers are.

1stly, prevarication talent is an NFL head coaching prerequisite.
2ndly, watching Lock's play is more important than watching numbers.
For example, watching numbers, from Oregon, prompted Louis Riddick to state that Justin Herbert "wasn't even in the conversation with Tua Tangivailoa."
3rdly, Lock's 3 year numbers were distorted by the 2020 masked, Zoomed practice sessions, and that year involved Lock's switch from Scangarello to Shurmur.
The 2021 starting job also was rigged, maybe simply because Paton had to prove the 11.5 million paid to Bridgewater was good value.

Lock is a below-average QB.

He can potentially be decent if not good. I think the chances of him ever proving to be exceptional are near zero but that is what we got.

Generally, QBs show greatness early. He hasn't. He has had a few games he looked decent. But nothing where he flashed some sort of exceptional anything.

Can the team be competitive with this? Maybe, possibly sure.

Is it likely to be a competitive playoff contender? Beyond the wildcard, no.
We can certainly squeak in and go a little farther in a playoff game if we get the right matchups but the idea we are going to be a relevant team even in our division is probably unlikely.

A good QB can pull you from that, but I don't think Lock is going to be good enough to make any kind of difference. Regardless of the #s, you just have to watch the guy.

So lying is a HCs job hmm.

As to the rest what excuses make u feel better. I will feel better when PC is gone and we get a real QB.

Maybe just telling less than "the whole truth, and nothing but the truth" is necessary, in most situations.
Did you hear Mike Zimmer, asked whether he wanted to see more of Kellen Mond?
Mike answered, "No because I've seen enough of him in practice."
Zimmer got fired.
Which April QB drafted did you want?

He doesn't do draft opinions because he doesn't know how the players will turn out. No pro football reference page to copy and paste yet.

Honestly though some of you guys are overthinking it. This QB class was junk, if you did the homework it’s not even a surprising statement but perhaps it’s because I thought the same. None of those QBs were ready to lead an NFL offense Year 1 with any type of success (Pickett, Corral, Ridder) and the prospects with better arm talent than Lock (pretty much only Willis) probably won’t be ready until Year 3 or 4.

I’d be more upset if they did draft a QB as they’d be wasting a pick on doubling down on QBs whose potential ceilings is probably not going to be that much better than whatthey have now.

If this was 2023 and the Seahawks re-sign both Lock and Smith and then made this statement. I would understand the sentiments as the Seahawks likely could ignore QB with their first two picks (highly unlikely) and probably still grab a better prospect than Pickett in the 2nd round.

IMO, they played it smart, and now they can afford to double dip in 2023 class and likely get better QBs to compete for them long-term.

Back in 2011, what other options were there other than to build around TJ? Build around Whitehurst? If you remember, 2011 was the second season of a complete rebuild. The team had just released Hasselback, who was a victim of his own aging career and the need to free up cap space. When PC was hired, he made it clear that he was not a fan of building a team around a high priced QB. In fact, it was likely a reason for his hiring. The team had 3 seasons with Wilson that fit PC's mold....a decent QB that could manage the offense and not break the bank. RW was not drafted with the belief that he would be a future HOF QB. If fact, many of the same people in this conversation loudly expressed their "expert" opinion that RW was a "stupid" pick because of his height and his mediocre ability. How did the team fair during those 3 seasons? How did the team fair after RW's contract ate up a huge chunk of the cap space and limited the ability to hire other talent?
