Yeah, I never knew Deebo was such a DIVA. Seemed pretty humble. But at this point, just trade him for a few first rounders. 49ers unlike Seattle (no offense) have done outstanding in the draft (Bosa, Aiyuk, Warner, Kittle, Deebo, etc) The fact is that Deebo's value is because he's used as a hybrid. Not sure how many teams he'll find that success with.

It sucks, but it's business.

Niners chose to play Deebo at receiver and tailback and he became their entire offense.

And the Niners are surprised Deebo didn’t want to sign an extension that isn’t up to par with the elite players in the league.

Niners screwed up by mismanaging this situation. Deebo may be wanting to get paid a lot and for that he does, he probably should. But Niners may not feel like he’s worth their cap space. But when you touch the ball as much Deebo does, he does make a case to get paid the big bucks.

Laughing at the Niners pain is great for Seattle!

The Chiefs with their Rams cap will likely get him
It sucks because I wanted to see how good PM's
really is without elite players all over..Like Russ
here. It's something I've been waiting to see for
some time now.

If you are a WR, your production depends on whether or not you have a good/great QB.

Not having one, means your WR may be losing valuable #s which translates into $$$$

Makes complete sense a WR would want out of a team with no top-tier QB for the same reason we are likely to have the same problem with DK later.

Ouch. Kind of hard for the brass to act like nothing is wrong when Deebo was so blunt. I know a lot of his production is due to Shanahan's ability to scheme his involvement, but he's still an incredibly talented dude that accounted for a remarkable portion of their offense in terms of touches and big gains.

So , Deebo had great production this year so are you saying Garoppolo is good /great ? Deebos production was more what he generated / YAC and Shanahan schemed

The opposite. Deebo had exceptional production and likely believes that with a better QB he could be mentioned in the list of top WRs.

The issue is that he does get a lot of YAC and some of that can be attributed to the tremendously well designed plays, both running and passing, that the 49ers are known for. It is an incredibly imaginative run game, using every asset - even WRs...as an example.

But if you are a WR, and you know you depend on the QB to get you the ball so you can produce ....you probably want a QB you feel is highly ranked/regarded. And you probably want less being used as a RB, so you can avoid injury.

The problem is the 59 carries he got at running back. He wants a new deal and 0 carries as a running back. Jet sweeps only to save his career.

That is his value. In my opinion if he wants 25 million he has to be a wide back. If he wants to be a WR, 17-20 million. He is not a superstar WR, 12 drops last year. Most of his production is YAC. Not great hands, not super route running or speed. His production is getting the ball in space and making people miss. I can name 5 WR or more who are better pure WR. He will not have the same overall production if used as a pure WR in a normal system.

I think the 49ers have offered a good deal but not top of market so they countered with the non running carries offer and the deal soured.

Yep. He reminds me of a long-striding Golden Tate, as his greatest strength is YAC (Tate was also great at high pointing the ball but whatever). Like a slower, but less PIA Harvin without the mental issues.
Tremendous weapon but also likely to take a lot of hits.
And the reports are starting to come out that he knows this is going to hurt him, so wants to leave SF because of the possible increased injury risk of all these run plays or YAC plays that drive, multiple tacklers to him.

All very good points. His 8 rushing TDs and 365 yards rushing are why he was 1st team all-pro last season.

It feels like his team is telling him to not risk his career with rushing attempts.

I think people miss something with Deebo.

The guy had 1400 yards receiving last year which is really good. However, he had almost 1000 at MIDSEASON. Samuel and Kupp were neck and neck to that point.

The reason he "only" had 400 down the stretch is that he started playing RB and played alot less as a WR.

What's my point? My point is that while people may say its his snaps at RB that should get him payed, if he HADN'T taken those snaps and had been playing WR 100% of the time, he'd likely have had ALOT more than 1400 yards last year. He also missed a game so that's 16 games.

As for his situation...honestly its depressing...and doesn't make much sense.

I actually don't think he'll get traded. I think his value to SF is more than to other teams and no team will give up what it would require to pry him loose. Additionally, if he decides to sit this year, thanks to the new CBA, he won't get an accredited season so he won't be a free agent next year. He'll just get a 5th year on his rookie deal. Then they can franchise him twice.

Point being, I don't know what would "compel" them to trade him unless its for a kings ransom.

As for the remark about Kittle wanting out....must be fun to flat make stuff up on the internet. lol.
