Over under for wins is 11. Take the over and thank Vegas when you are counting your winnings! :th2thumbs:

I wish our schedule was harder so we can silence all the doubters. This is still a solid bet, I'm still thanking percy daily for the 4, 000 he won me with that kickoff for a td.

Please pardon my ignorance, I know almost nothing about betting on sports.
What does a $100 bet pay you if you win this bet?
And
Can the bet be placed online or must it be done in person?

From what I've seen (http://linemakers.sportingnews.com/nfl/ ... ots-eagles), if you bet the OVER, you have to put up $110 to win $100... and the UNDER bet is even money... put up $100 to win $100,

And yes, the bet must be made in person (unless you have a personal bookie... but then if you did, you wouldn't be asking the question).

you sure it's not pay $110 to win $100 either way -- over or under?

anyway, vegas is just applying precedent here. apparently historically, winning 11+ games is very tough for a champion.

No, I'm not sure... just making an educated guess.

Perhaps someone knows definitively.

Vegas takes a skim off every bet , I'm guessing you'd have to bet $110 to win $100 for example on either side unless heavy money comes in on one side or the other then they'll adjust the line. Their "ideal" scenario is to get even money on both sides and they are happy with their skim.

We play 6 against the NFC West, plus GB, plus DEN/KC/SD, plus Carolina, plus Philly. Frankly, the only puffballs we get to play are DC, Oakland and the South's team. We also don't know which NJG team we will face.

So if they win exactly 11 is that a push? If so, do you lose your 10% or get all your money back?

What they usually do is push it to a half...like a half a point to make the bet good. Looks like a 1.1:1 odds. Remember when betting on the horses you get your bet back and the winnings. My guess is they will make it Over 10.5 and Under same. I dont know what they would do for a tie. That would make it a half...dammit. Ouch my head hurts now....... :thirishdrinkers:

Not in this example, as they have appointed 1/2 games to other teams, not the Hawks. If you bet the over, and the Hawks win 11...you lose. I am of the opinion this is an excellent number set by Vegas. Again, their objective is to get half the people betting the over and half the people betting the under. If they set it at 12, I'd probably bet the under myself.

Thank you for the wisdom. Over and under but not equal...I would guess that they have a percentage on equal too?? I may have to go to vegas next month after all to visit some friends. They treated me good last time...dang them. I may make some bets then. NO biking in 100+ temps tho from now on.

Good luck to you down there. Keep in mind they are catering to (potentially) millions of people in setting these numbers. The majority know way less than you (especially regarding our Hawks in particular). The lines are set based on public perception and we all know the public typically don't know Jack. But in this instance, whomever set that line, did his homework IMO. I think it's a very solid number considering our schedule, the feasibility of us staying healthy, etc. It's not a number that I would care to bet either over or under. Additionally, that line may (or may not) swing a bit. Probably not much, but if 100 Hawk fans go down thee and bet $1000 on the over, they will raise the number to 11.5 or possibly een 12. Conversely, if 100 9er fans bet the Hawks under, they will drop the number to 10.5, if not 10.

Again, they are seeking balance...equal action on both sides of that number and will adjust it to minimize their exposure (regardless of what others may tell you...this is fact).

Again good luck and don't bet anymore than you can laugh off.

You can bet online at sports.brovada.lv
Very reputable and well known online betting site, so don't have fear of scams. They handle every single type of betting you can do in Vegas.

They have line betting in Oregon too. I have been to stateline a few times. And now 20 miles is nothing. Vegas is out, I have other priorities that have come up.

Online or at a casino? Casinos I've been to in Oregon don't have sports books.

I shall have to go back and look. Seemed like it was just a line betting place in a Gas station of sorts. I know me and a buddy did it several years back for Pro football.
