Not sure there'll be much of substance today with the bye week, but will try to write up a brief synopsis of what I get out of it.

Pete said film looked good and we were really good on defense. Very solid day

Other side of the ball we struggled a bit early and overtargeted the running game...tom made adjustments at halftime and turned the game around

Thought we again finished really well the way we like to.

Will come back to work next monday (one week from today). Should have pretty much everyone back by then.

League rules mandate we give them at least 4 days off, he said it wasn't worth the gains a few practices would gain compared to what they gain from getting the players the rest from the time off.

Feels good about where we are going. Guys are doing everything they are asked to do with prep and focus.

On over targeting the running game....said we had to adjust our targets on the line of scrimmage because it seemed they were playing behind us early in the game. He said he thought we were getting off the ball TOO good and we had to reign it back in.

Expects Carpenter to be the starter over Moffit for the Miami game.

Disappointed with our play on the road. Expected to get more wins there. Said we need to take care of the football, keep the penalties down and not make the mistakes we have on defense and we should have a good shot.

about not playing division rivals at home yet....said he doesn't consider it "unusual or strange" and it will be big games at the end of the year and should be really interesting and exciting

Joked that he doesn't need to focus much today...reporter said "ok then forget it" (it was funnier live)

Said he doesn't want them to do TOO much work on their week off, wants them to rest well and said they gave them a plan. Also mentioned they are also concerned with nutrition...said some guys can be just a few big macs away from being 10 lbs overweight.

Can't recall ever being involved in a tie game. Said he'd loved to have seen a shootout

Said Russell is going to take a little break...then joked that he'll be gone for about 3 hours tomorrow.

the Read option is something they'd been working on for a long time but needed to get the right time to bring it into the game plan.

Talking about using college style with qb's and he said the issue is always how many hits can your qb take. He doesn't plan on our qb taking too many hits. Said he trusts Wilson to make the proper call on when to get down and when to take the extra yardage.

Not much of substance.

He thinks next Monday everyone should be healthy and ready to practice, which is good news. Sounds like Carpenter has the edge over Moffitt to start at LG. No one asked if Moffiit might get back to starting at RG. I'm inclined to play Moffit or McQuistan.

Watched it. Thanks for the heads up. Pete was loose and having fun.

Yea, winning before a bye week is always helpful in that regard
