The Rams are like a turd that won't flush.

Ever since Pete Carroll was hired to be the Seahawks coach in 2010, we suck against the Rams. Compared to the rest of the Seahawks' success versus the rest of the league, it feels like the Rams have had our number.
Even going back to the Jeff Fisher days in St Louis, and even more under Mcvay, those guys are a tough out.

Since 2010, the Seahawks are 11-14 versus the Rams
Since Mcvay's hiring in 2017, the Seahawks are 3-8.
Both of these records include last season's post season collapse.

I'm tired of saying "maybe next time" after losing to the Rams. What's the deal? Why do the Pete Carroll lead Seahawks struggle so much against the Rams?
It drives me nuts that we can't find a way to beat them, even after poaching Shane Waldron and signing Everett in free agency.

Pretty sure its because of the piss-poor performance of our star qb.
The lack of intellect when it comes to leading this team to a victory against the Rams is baffling.
Worst games of his career are to that team.

Funny thing is how Pete owns Shanahan but McVay owns Pete. NFL is weird.

Because the Rams are built to pressure the passer.

We win primarily through Wilson. The Rams are built to make it hard for a QB to be effective.

The weaknesses for the Rams are:

OL
Safeties
LB
(WR was also a weakness but we stupidly allowed them to get OBJ)

You can run all day on the Rams and you can beat them handily if you can pressure their QB, which is easier because their line is a weakness.

So the 49ers will destroy the Rams, almost every time. The Rams cannot stop anything short and you can run all over them.

The 49ers run the ball well.
They have a great front 7 that pressures the QB.
The 49ers beat the Rams regularly because making their QB ineffective doesn't hurt them much as he is already not great.

(The 49ers lose to us for the same reason, because ineffective QBs have a harder time against better QBs - and while the 49ers have a great front 7, their secondary is pretty much easy pickings for someone like Wilson)

We rely on big plays in the passing game. The Rams have very good corners that prevent this. They have a DL built to pressure the QB.

So we can do little of what we do best, and our weaknesses (OL) are easily exploited.

Add in that Pete gets outcoached by the McVay regularly? These are generally losses.

Sometimes Wilson will win despite the issue, but only by throwing amazing passes to essentially covered receivers. Not often enough or likely though to put money on it or expect it though.
