I think that you're confusing people with that post.

There is no more guaranteed money owed to Marshawn. The last of his guaranteed money ($4.5M) was paid to him this past season. So the team can cut him today if they want and he has no more money coming to him.

However, his 2016 and 2017 prorated signing bonus of $5M stays on the team's salary cap books and counts as dead money once Marshawn is cut.

If he's cut before June 1st,, all $5M counts against the team's 2016 cap, which is likely what will happen.
