What an amazing thread. One for the ages!

I would love to see just the Top-100 and see how it evolves with no outside comments, just your input. That's what makes this list so amazing.

Thanks for keeping me entertained in this awful thing called "not football season."

They archived it already :) Ready and waiting with just the Top-100 no outside comments:

Terrific thread hawstorian, thank you so much.

No worries about this being archived. That's as good as done once folks are finished commenting.

I'm thinking it would be good to make a copy and strip all the replies out. All killer, no filler.

Archived? Screw that! This thing should be published. Quite seriously, John, you did a fantastic job chronicling the history of this team, going beyond names to personalities.

He only problem is that it came to an end. It feels like the last episode of lost. What am I going to live for tomorrow without this ?

Before this all goes to archive-land, I wanted to add one post listing many of my sources for Seahawks history.

The Seahawks have made available every media guide in team history here: http://seahawksmedia.com/PastGuides.htm

They also have every game-book in team history here: http://seahawksmedia.com/PlayByPlays.htm

I'd like to thank the Seahawks for putting all that out there pretty much for my benefit.

Some of the play by plays there were incomplete, so I had to get them at NFL.Com through http://www.archive.org.

If you haven't spent any time at http://www.pro-football-reference.com/ you are missing out. Especially go to the Seahawk's all-time encyclopedia for some fun information: http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/sea/

My favorite Seahawk historian on the internet is Becky Selm -- her tribute to 1976 is here: http://www.beckys-place.net/spirit.html

The Seattle Times has searchable archives back to 1990 here: http://community.seattletimes.nwsource. ... ?from=stnv (Subscription required)

The New Tribune also has searchable archives that require a subscription. I think they go back to '93 or so.

Google Newspapers has searches that will bring up articles in old print form here: http://news.google.com/newspapers

For example, this article http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1 ... 30,1334610 tells when the Seahawks cut Don Clune and claimed Bryant Salter off waivers.

You can gather most of this data from these sources. I also have a lot of old print material that I relied on, including old Sporting News Football Registers.

If you are a true Seahawk history buff, and want to just compare notes and memories, you can also PM me. I'd love to know I'm not the only lunatic in this particular asylum.

Thanks again for everyone's kind words and participation.

John

Not just the best thread ever on .net (and even better than all the threads combined talking about uniforms.)

This gets my nod as the best thread ever, anywhere. Thank God that Al Gore invented the interwebs so you could do this.

My only complaint was your daily reminders how old I am now. Either because I remembered or because I had forgotten.

I can't believe this is coming close to an end. This thread has been a masterpiece.
Thanks, my friend. It's nice to be considered in the same class as Picasso.
No, he said masterpiece, not overhyped art. This, my friend, is a Michaelangelo.

Thank you for the memories. I lost some of them when I went overseas and you brought some of them back. I can appreciate a history of what was done to make us football fans, and better than that Seahawks Fans. Tomorrow is gonna be a fun day.....Draft Day. Go Hawks.
