So me not being a fan for all 28 years of my life makes me a band wagoner?

Nope, you obviously have to be old as hell to be a REAL fan, don't worry, I'm a bandwagoner with you.

Half the fans now have no clue about John L Williams.

I'll throw out Derrick Fenner, Rufus Porter, and Nesby Glasgow also.

John L is one of the best Seahawks of all time... truly.

I like the idea of this thread (having grown up in the 80s) but dont like the title... reliving some of the older Seahawks for younger fans is great, but not defining.

with that, my favorite all timers (pre-2006):

John L
Paul Skansi
Mike Tice (not really, but hey, he played for us)
Jacob Greene/Joe Nash
Paul Brown
Curt Warner
Joe J
Brian Blades
Kenny Easley
Largent (obviously)
Joey Galloway
Hasselbeck

Also, found this... thought it fitting for this thread

I remember watching a Monday night game and I believe the Hawks were 2-14 that year, or close.

But the defense was unreal. They kept the offense in the game late and were playing so well that the announcers were talking about how the defense should be playing offense too. They weren't mocking them. Those guys were incredible.

It is all a mismash because I was young but I remember watching guys like Sinclair, Rufus Porter, Tez and it always seemed we had a solid CB crew.

I had a RAT patrol T-shirt because Rusty Tillman was a god to me back then.

I don't think it matters if you can remember guys like Patrick Hunter, it just means you are old. But I would put some of those players like Blades and Hunter up against anyone. And John L Williams is still one of my favorite players ever, it was neck and neck between him and Eugene Robinson but Robinson lost a little luster with his preSB error when he was on the Falcons. As a Hawk, though, he was a combination hero and saint.
(When picking favorite players it never seemed fair to pick Largent, that seemed obvious)

I know a lot of those pre-2000 teams never got that far but some of those players were fun to watch. The Seahawks have been a part of Sunday since as long as I can remember.

I'm pretty confident that 95% of you will have no idea who this former Seahawk is/was and that it will qualify me as a "lifetime fan:"

"Benchwarmer Bob" Lurtsema.

I'm not clicking through 13 pages of this but I always loved Patrick Chukwurah even in his brief time w/ the Hawks.

Almost forgot Pete Gross. Rest his soul. Probably still my favorite.

Just saw the old "Blue Grit" video from 1990, that team started 0-3 because they tried to revamp the offense and it failed. They went 9-4 to finish the season and were very tough. It gave a clip of Gross and I swear he looked just like "Better call Saul" Bob Oetiker from Breaking Bad.

John L. Williams was great on Tecmo Super Bowl. As was Brian Blades.

But man, were they hard to win the Super Bowl with on that game. Only teams as bad were the Colts and Patriots.

You had to be the Niners to Rice, Bears to Payton on the dump off or Raiders with Bo Jackson.

Lol... the Giants McConkey.. Morris.
