Still smoking. Guys like Watson, Mac Jones, Sam Darnold, etc... are still listed, but not Russ. If there is inside info that caused this move I would think tomorrow might be an interesting day.

In a sign that their may be an imminent trade of Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, online sportsbooks have removed futures bets regarding the next team that Wilson will play for and that could signal money for the Chicago Bears.

Lol why? It’s not his fault Russ is only for Russ, it’s not his fault his QB wants out

Yeah, it pretty much is. Besides hardly addressing the Oline, handcuffing the offense, wasting cap space and draft picks, he also dismissed Russ' opinions for the offense.

Russ has had enough with being the whipping boy.

Is it also his fault Russ never developed enough as a QB to read a cover 2?

How about maybe lineman don’t wanna play with Russ cuz he’s unpredictable and sacks himself a lot of the time?

This isn’t all on the team, Russ is about his LeGaCy now, it’s about him and it’s gross. I have no interest on keeping a guy who’s not man enough to request a trade the right god damn way either. Richard Sherman was right about Russ.

The offense never changed when teams went to cover 2 (ask DK about that) so the options were limited.

Carroll has never put much stock in the Oline (has any Olineman drafted by Carroll ever signed a 2nd contract?) and you want to blame Wilson for being the most sacked QB in the past 10 years? Sure, he is to blame for some of them when the plays break down, but come on.

I'm not sure Russ even wants a trade, he just wants to be heard and would like some changes to better the team. Going public is the only way it could ever happen because Carroll doesnt have anybody that he answers too and he sure wasnt listening to Russ.

I dont blame Russ one bit. As a matter of fact, I applaud him. People are listening now.

Well that's not good. Pauline says unlikely to happen this year per source citing the cap not making it the most favorable time to do so, but says if he isn't traded, this'll likely be his final year in Seattle.

I gotta say... looks like it's happening. If not now, then imminent next year.

Carroll will go from hero to public enemy #1 in a matter of seconds.

I think it will start out as the "Emperor has no clothes" situation.
(People praising Pete's {Emperor's} trade publicly whether they agree with it or not in fear of ridicule.)

Informed fans {the small child} will point out the obvious stupidity. Then the media not wanting to feel uncultured, will poo-poo any logic, and condescend all doubters of our Lord Emperor.

Pete {Emperor} will proudly continue on despite knowing full well it was dumb. For it is easier and less painful to continue the lie and look foolish than to admit being THE FOOL.

…But in a year or two, once the results are in… The torches will be LIT!!

Like I keep saying, though. I hope cooler heads prevail. Fools rush in.

Russ wants to leave Seattle. He hates it here. His wife has said she wants a bigger market. So yea let’s put all the blame on Pete. We will be fine. Russ has turned into a pre Madison’s. So let’s let him walk. He will have a good year or two then start complaining about his new team. He wants full control of all personnel and offensive style.

Fade,

Do you really think Pete wants any of this drama? Pete was the guy who hand picked Russ. Said sorry Matt Flynn but were going with the rookie, gave him a huge contract, chose keeping Russ over an elite defesne.

If Russ gets traded it won't be because Pete wants to trade him it will be becaue Russ wants out.

I definitely think Pete is the kind of guy that won't want to keep a guy around that doesn't want to be here but that doesn't mean a trade is what Pete wants.

Seems to me like Russ wants to leave to be in a better market and that's more important to him then winning. Instead of saying that he threw his OL under the bus to get this ball rolling.

So wrong, Russ wants to own a NFL franchise, anything he is doing now simply steps towards that goal .

Guess why Jody is siding with old Pete?

Pete is also the guy that has all but ignored the offensive line since he's been here and refused to hear any offensive input from his QB. Can you blame any QB for being bitter towards that?

Because she has no football knowledge at all and she gave Carroll an extension to make the decisions going forward.

Pete would never have been offered that extension if this was going on beforehand. Once again, Jody only agreed to take on the Seahawks because it was a favor to her brother and the city of Seattle and,,,,,,its profitable,

Going forward, if Wilson leaves the team will start their track to mediocrity, Pete will bail before his extension is up because his legacy will keep being tarnished and Jody will then sell the team because it will no longer be profitable.

Thats the next 5 years of the Seattle Seahawks in my opinion.

Well, then, Jody Allen, should also shoulder a large portion of the blame and we should run her out of town as well.

Cause, ultimately, it was her decision to extend Carroll.

If the Seahawks start to lose profits, they’ll become a replica of the Sonics, ran by a terrible owner.

Jody Allen is headed in that direction, IMO.

I think this is a bit harsh. Paul held on to Ruskell for too long, let Holmgren GM for too long, and hired Mora. If you weren't calling for him to be ran out of town, then you should be cutting Jody infinitely more slack coming off a 12-4 year with an unfortunate playoff performance.

It's a league of parity, and this team has had 9 winning seasons in a row. If it falls apart, it falls apart - which it does, for every team.

I'm OK with Pete and John being bold and deciding that they've maxxed out Russell's potential and want to see if they can rebuild another SB roster.

But that doesn't mean just trading Russell for 2-3 1st rounders and eating a 39M dead cap it.

If a trade partner emerges with the necessary value of players and picks needed to make another successful rebuild? Then I say go for it.

But I've yet to see anything close to what it'd take, and IMO what that means is getting a DeShawn Watson and three top 15 1st rounder type of deal.

Haven't seen that, all the teams on Russell's list pick #20 and later and have scrub QB's (or no QB's). So either Russell expands his list, or he gets to wear a Hawks uniform for another year or two.

Mael, exactly, man. Would Paul have wanted Carroll to be extended?

Remember when Kam was in his dispute for a new contract and Paul had to step in and intervene.

Paul operates and steps in when he needs to.

The Kam situation proved that.

And with Russell and Carroll more or so passively aggressively taking shots at one another, Paul, would have stepped in and put an end to this.

Jody does not operate in this manner.

She has no desire to effectively run this organization as Paul did.

It’s upsetting, it really is, but if Paul wanted to Jody to run the Seahawks, exactly like how Paul himself did it, Jody has clearly failed to do so thus far.

All of this can be settled if Jody intervenes but she’s no Paul and never will be.

She’s going to let it be what it is and that’s not a good thing, bro.

Looking back.

Spencer Heywood and Lenny Wilkins, Dennis Johnson, Walt Hazzard.

Randy Johnson, Ken Griffey Junior, Alex Rodriquez

Is Russell Wilson next?

Sonics took years to recover from their moves.

Mariners never have recovered.

Why I am looking back at teams here that have made major moves or chose to not make some and the effect after.

I understand the point you're making but the Mariners are a bad example. They had their best season once Johnson, Griffey, and A-Rod left. That team tied for the most wins in a regular season all-time.

Not when you take the Steroids out of it, Boone was juiced up as were others.

About as useful as your reply.

Try your whole post. Where is this trade you speak of?

Didn't claim there was one. Refer to the first two words in the title should you decide you actually want to read them for once.
