After getting no trade suitors for Jones, he was waived today.

Seahawks are deep at the position and had to make room for some guys coming back from injury. He is worth a 7th/conditional 6th, but no takers. Hate to see him go. I don't think he lasts on a practice squad. Someone going to nab him for active roster. Good player.

That, for sure, and it seems that Bruce Irvin has played his way into a roster spot as well. Long term, Jones would probably be the better guy to stick than Irvin, but Seahawks front office appears to be in "win now" mode and the edge help is an immediate need. An indicator that they think they have a chance to make some post season noise.

That's what I have been hearing. They were hoping to trade him to make space for TB but didn't get a suitor so they had to release him.
