Happy to see him back. I just hope that if he makes the 53 man roster, it's because he still has something left in the tank and not for any other reason. Ditto Chris Clemons.

Interesting. He was arguably the worst CB in football last season, but perhaps being back in our system will do wonders for him. Only time will tell.

I guess you missed the guy starting opposite Sherm last year, because he was the worst, and there's no arguing about it.

Attitude and veteran depth with experience in the system. I'm good with this. It's still early April. No guarantee he even makes the final cut.

Schneider recalled how in 2010, when he and coach Pete Carroll took over in Seattle, they identified Pittsburgh and Baltimore as the two most physical teams in the NFL. The Seahawks had a long way to get there.

“That’s where we have to be,” Schneider remembered thinking. “That’s the standard. We have to get there. We have to get smart, tough, reliable football players and we have to be able to field a team that is going to be able to play you anywhere, no matter what kind of weather you are playing in.”

Like Clem, this is a one year deal. The Hawks got one good year from Raheem Brock, Robert Galley, Kevin Williams, etc. Aging vets who proved to have gas in the tank. I see this and Clam signing identical to those moves with a major difference. They've been here. They know the system.

IMHO opinion, the team focused way too much on numbers. Too much like baseball, they went overboard to 10 yard split times, and other combinations that made them "Hawky". Cable had a reputation of building mean, tough, lines, not the quick and nimble. Webb and Sowell wouldn't look Hawky from a pure numbers sense and IMHO that's why many here and pissed. Who cares? I like the grit. I like being tough. And if the numbers don't fit your liking, so be it.

I can see using him situationally. Just over two years ago he was making more than his share of big plays. He's 31, I for one don't think he's done. He's always been great near the LOS...and then there's that goal line situational awareness thing.

I highly doubt #25, #31, and #29 are thinking, "I don't know man, those penalties..." right now.

The original Legion of Boom is back!

Only thing now is to shore up the offensive line and interior depth of the defensive line with some pass rushing DTs and we can make some noise again!

Is there a possibility that he could be used against TE, say on passing downs?

I know he's not the greatest cover guy, but perhaps against a slower bigger TE he maybe ok.

I don't know, I just thought he would be excellent at that role.. especially since we are so vulnerable against the TE.

That's where I see him playing, or weakside edge on passing downs.

He was like 2nd in the league among CBs in tackles last year, fwiw.

I would prefer to convert him to safety because I think he's lost 2 steps since he left here last time.. but I think this is a very good move if for nothing else the locker room. Browner is loved by these guys. Clemons is loved by these guys. I see a theme.

All grading him for what he did last year with a messed up knee is very misleading. The Saints play a lot of zero coverage and leave their corners on an island. There's a reason why he shined with Earl Thomas giving him help and when Devin McCourty gave him help in Foxboro.

Browner could play SS allowing Kam to maybe flex to the box, for when the opponent is a girl/finesse team.

Coupleof years ago, to the dismay of everyone, I suggested it. I thought he would be a great safety. I got the argument that you can't teach a old dog new tricks.. <sigh>

Chancellor + Browner = Bringing the Boom! Browner may not be a quality CB anymore but he would make a decent safety to backup Kam. One year deal sounds like a good price to bring him back.

I envision him as a TE covering specialist. And we face a few good ones this year.
