Seahawks' Most Gross 2021 Stat: Plays Run: O vs. D

Credit to Cha, a great commenter on Seahawks Draft Blog. But I looked into this, and it seems to check out.

It's one of the most depressing 'Hawks stats I've ever seen. Truly horrifying.

"In 2021 the offense ran 954 plays. The least amount of offensive plays in the NFL. Dead last.

The defense? 1201 plays. The most defensive plays in the NFL. Dead last.

The defense ran 247 – or roughly four whole games’ worth – more plays than the offense did."

Sounds about right. And both squads were at fault.

The D couldn't get off the field, sure...

But the O couldn't stay on the field either. Not enought first downs and they couldn't score enough points to make up for the difference in TOP.

Not shocking considering we lost the TOP battle in 15 of 17 games, sometimes massively.

Knowing this, it's surprising that they won more than a couple of games.

tt was well established that the Hawks had one of the worse 3rd down efficiency number. I am guessing the defence's number getting off the field on 3rd down wasn't good either
