"While CenturyLink Field has become the best home field advantage in the league thanks to your energy and passion, the health and safety of all of our fans, players and staff remains our top priority," he wrote. "Although gameday will look different this season, we feel confident this is the right decision."

The fan-less games are scheduled for:

Sept. 20 against the New England Patriots;
Sept. 27 against the Dallas Cowboys; and
Oct. 11 against Minnesota Vikings.

It was not immediately clear if the season ticketholders would receive a refund for those games or how the team would handle the situation.

It was also not clear how later home games would be handled.

"While we are hopeful that conditions will improve as the season moves forward, we will continue to follow the lead of public health and government officials to make future decisions about gameday," Arnold said. "If and when they determine that it is safe to host fans under a limited capacity later in the season, we will reach out to Season Ticket Holders who have requested to continue receiving gameday details as we wait and see."

Season ticket holders notified no fans for at least the first three home games.

As we navigate through planning for the upcoming season, we are continuing to work in close collaboration with public health officials and Governor Inslee’s office regarding the safest possible gameday experience. After careful consideration, we have made the difficult determination to play at least our first three home games (Sept. 20, Sept. 27 and Oct. 11) without fans in attendance. While CenturyLink Field has become the best home field advantage in the league thanks to your energy and passion, the health and safety of all of our fans, players and staff remains our top priority. Although gameday will look different this season, we feel confident this is the right decision.

Would anyone even want to attend a game if you could?

Trying to avoid all the huge crowds, trying to drink beer/eat food while keeping your mask on and/or not having random people breathing on your consumables. Trying to scream through a mask. etc. etc. etc.

If the Niners fans could do this for an entire season, we can do it for three home games :2thumbs:
