Russell Wilson is still calling Seahawks audibles, which he's never practiced with Broncos guys. They frequently have absolutely no idea what he's talking about.

Benjamin Allbright confirms this report is true.

The rumblings were all true. Simplified offense? That was by design. It had to be to accommodate Russ as a player. He is not a cerebral player.

Seriously, this is even surprising for me. But then again, it makes a lot of what was so confusing watching film of the guy, make perfect sense. There were soooo many plays, literally countless plays, where you'd roll the tape and just wonder how it was that Russ could either flat out not see or just ignore an obvious read. Much of It was chalked up to him just wanting to do things his way.

But for him to be talking mumbo jumbo in the huddle and confusing his old calls with the new... it makes you wonder whether the dude ever knew what was going on. It would certainly explain why last year Russ refused to run 95% of Waldrons plays. He obviously can't have understood the plays if it's obvious now that not only does he not 'get' Hacketts playbook, but he's incapable of distinguishing between new audibles and signals and those from yesteryear.

In a weird way it makes me respect Russ more to know what he was able to accomplish given how incredibly limited he was / is.

And even more respect to Pete for making this guy one of the most prolific players in the league for almost a decade.

The bubbles screens. The quick outside slants. The hooks and curls and the deep outs. Pete made an offense out of a handful of routes, a running game, and a qb who (when he wanted to) could create magic on his own.

Jesus.

RW has never been a "cerebral" quarterback. He's basically the anti-Peyton Manning. His weapon was his quickness with his legs and buying more time to find wide open receivers. That weapon is long gone. He's ruined. You can't teach him to wipe the slate clean and ignore all the habits he insists still work. He's too stubborn, if not incapable of changing. Denver is so screwed with this guy.

Uh, did anyone else watch that entire segment with Polumbus and Hastings? I find it even more alarming that Russell is audibling out of most of the plays called by Hackett. It's official, RW is a full fledge Primadonna with serious issues to his game and the Donks are STUCK with him. Pete Carroll deserves a raise after what he now obviously tolerated, and took the heat for, when Russ was here. What a dysfunctional disaster in Denver. This is only going to get better, gentlemen, I hope you enjoy it as much as I will.

And, of course, it's the cerebral QB's who have a chance to play into their late 30's. The clock is ticking fast for him/Broncos.

Not only is he Audibling but apparently doing it in a totally different language now. Hence why the resistance to the wristband. Schereth had a point with that whoever the coach is needs to design around Russ. Maybe more as a liability.

Russ’ closest complement is Kaepernick. Had the 9ers been roped into a 5 year nfl record breaking extension, maybe They look more like the Broncs now do, but for a longer period.

Well Russ is smarter that the billionaire who started Walmart..!
Seriously, could this be more than meets the eye, could he have already taken to many whacks to the melon, or perhaps a mental condition unrelated to football? Could he be suffering a serious mental condition?
Hard to believe he could have attained all of his football success throughout the years if he was this incapacitated ?
Perhaps he needs to be examined for a neurological condition? If he is suffering a serious medical condition he may need sympathy rather than ridicule?? Just a thought...

Great point, not only is Russell changing the play, but it's not getting through to the guys on offense because he's not speaking the same language. This is going to get worse, alot worse. I can't imagine that coaching staff, or the locker room, will continue biting their tongue about Russell not being held accountable for the issues on offense when they know it's predominantly his fault.

2022: Hackett loses this next one, he’s either soft or hard fired, meaning the grizzled consultant they hired now does all the playcalling either way. Less input from Russ will be tolerated.

2023: They get someone else to coach who comes in having a so called spark. Their ol isn’t so injured. Maybe they win a couple more games.

2024: coach probably goes. RW meanwhile has found a partner that will brand Ciaras twerking and his ever more worse quarterbacking into an expression of empowerment.

2025, they let him go.

Just shows what a coaching genius Pete is having to try and keep the offense "simple" all those years...like many qb's before him in that classification once the legs go its all over...guess his brain was never there...anyone trying to defend his play with excuses has no credibility.

Also shows how manipulative Russ is to sway new teammates like Olson and DK into believing that the problem was Pete. For all the praise that gets heaped on the guy for his visits to the Children's hospital, it's hard to reconcile the kind of personality who would slander another's name to cover his own flaws with the kind of person who would do something selflessly.

Come to think of it, he never does go to the Children's Hospital without multiple cameras in tow...

I'm having trouble believing any of his philanthropy comes from any place other than self-promotion. He's even getting product placement in his children's hospital visits in Denver.

Not for nothing. It's still cool to visit those kids. But there's even rumors that he avoids visiting more physically disfigured children because they're not as photogenic...
