The no guarantees also refers to this. I wonder how many people thought Brady would show why he was 199 very fast after playing 7 or so games for the Pats in 2001.

Geno and Brock are quite similar in that they performed far better than anyone expected last season so there is some doubt whether they will continue at the same level this season but they could also be even better as they get match experience.

IMO the main point to get from this is: revealing you know there's a tell isn't very bright. Also, I think he was referring to the offense rather than Purdy directly, likely tells from formations, personnel and motion (although there could be some body language indicating run/pass etc.).
